There was (still is?) a FANTASTIC podcast called Someone Knows Something that investigated a 1964 murder of 2 black man by the KKK in Mississippi. While it wasn't a lynching, they did find one of the men responsible and get a conviction. The man who hosts and investigates it, David Ridgen, is a phenomenal investigative journalist, and he was shot at during this season. The episode was made possible by one of the murdered men's brother who never stopped looking for justice for his brother.

They ABSOLUTELY are. There's no damn excuse. I am so happy he just let it all hang out and gave you full blast crazy through the phone so you weren't wasting your time or in danger.

When I was younger, I (thankfully) never had to deal with that level of crazy. But I definitely had multiple men tell me they loved me on a first date. This was like 20 years ago, and I wonder if the emotional immaturity of men has been warped into what you experienced just simply because it was unchecked.

All that after just 3 hours together.

It's a shame. It really turned him into someone who's obsessed with those thoughts. He was always the one who worked so hard on himself internally, just to turn into that.

This is my brother. He went from donating to Ron Paul to telling me women shouldn't be allowed to vote within the space of about ten years.

#10 I got out of a traffic ticket this exact way. Cop pulled me over for expired registration (it's a sticker here). He walked up and my dog got really excited and sniffed him forever. He had 2 dobies at home, says "You smell them don't you?" I got a warning.

Oof, I've worked for dentists for almost 20 years and a lot of them are already crayyyyyzee. I bet that made it really difficult.

I truly wish I hadn't been moved here when I was a kid. I have next to no family left. We are looking to leave ASAP but shit is expensive.

I'm good with that, it was just a shock. Seems like we researched tf out of this purchase and somehow completely forgot to check how much it would be to register it.

The charging stations do charge, except for a few slow chargers at the movie theaters around here.

I stepped off a curb about a year ago and rolled my ankle. It still pops.

Yep, it's usually between 75 and 99% humidity here, which intensifies every kind of weather. I had to step outside to take a phone call for 20 minutes the other day and I had sweat rolling down my back. Right now, it's 86F outside, but because of humidity, it feels like 97F. And it's only 10:30.

I live in Texas and shade has never made a huge difference in heat. I was blown away when my dad and brothers went to Kansas during the summer to work and reported that it was actually pleasant under the shade, even when it was a good 90 degrees in the sun. I can't wait to leave this state.

I think I might have ADHD, and the bingeing is real! I never understood why I did it until I started realizing how common it was with ADHDers.

My mom was a pretty healthy 66 year old that died 2 weeks after getting covid. My husband's parents are both miserable, neglectful people who have multiple illnesses, both got cancer, both lived through it, one of them with one less lung. It's the spite and anger that carries people through.

Yeah, I read sort of the same thing! Except they attributed it to the fact that most people slow their learning considerably as they age and so their days are less marked and noticeable.

As I get older, 18 months feel shorter and shorter. But it's going to pass anyway, so you made good use of it!

I temped at a dental office ~8 years ago. The dentist was old af and said shit like that all the time. I told him that the patient I had in the chair had updated her medical history, and that she'd just had a breast reconstruction. He said "Tell her she has to prove it."

I also had a great aunt who was a badass. She shot and killed the man who was holding down and attempting to sexually assault her daughter and got written up in her local newspaper for it.
