It messes with me immensely that the Militia Act defines the National Guard as a Militia, when by definition it can't be, since a Militia is a para-military organisation, and the National Guard is a military force, just a reserve one.

The 2nd amendment was never about government tyranny.It was about making sure people were armed, when the government called up the militias, because a standing army just wasn't feasible for many years. At *best* it hasn't made sense since WW1
