Perhaps a sprinke of nuance would help here. Similarly you don't want full blown liberalism, nor communism, but a social democracy.
The problem is trying to convince them it's not indoctrination because their cult leaders are saying that, and that's the position where both of them really like it.
They have chosen a value system that fixes the truth removing the need to follow times, scientific progress. It brings their unstable lives stability, empty lives a reason to live and die, their poor lives a promise of endless riches after-death for doing nothing (but somehow that is not communism), status over heathens just for saying "yes", intrinsic value when they feel they have no utility, excuse to exploit others (prosperity gospel), permission to objectify women... A buffet for bigots.
Well, not buying consoles is a great way to get everything release on a PC.
If you want your hardware cost subsidized with games you buy later, or be the first to play exclusive games, go with consoles. If you want to choose your hardware to run ~any piece of software, including productivity tools, or play dirt cheap games, or reduce e-waste by not replacing everything every time, or run higher graphics/resolution, or have the option to buy spare parts, or if you want to avoid DRM, or multi-task, or not pay for multiplayer network access, then you might like a PC.
This. I'm choosing to watch it as a "game movie" from YT while I do indoor cycling or whatever, then play it once it's available.

Placebos are not a medicine. They exist for the double blind randomized trials to help establish what works and what doesn't. If e.g. cancer could be cured with sugar pills we would have found out that way, and wouldn't have shit expensive medical research.

The events pitch anecdotal evidence as more or less hard proof, that alone is spitting in the face of the scientific method. And the people there spout anti-establishment lies about Bush family, Cheneys, etc. being lizard people. As much as I dislike them, this type of dehumanization does disservice to the evil that mankind is capable of. The event also offered a platform for new age bullshit that pulls the chumps to grifts like alt med, living on just sun etc.

Every single one of them is a grift where conmen milk a cult-like community of people who have been put down for their fringe beliefs, who have been isolated from their community, who want to feel special, who want who are primed to believe in conspiracies, and who need a simplified world view to explain their world, especially their failure in integrating with the society.
