yeah, I'm sorry to say, but that is not how it works in real life. When the economy goes down, most people buy lower quality stuff so they can keep buying as much stuff as they are used to. Well... that is what rich countries do. Poor countries get's a famine.
well, I can't disagree with that. However, I have no idea how to get people to make and buy high quality stuff and rampant inflation will only make it worse. When people feel they are getting poorer, they will buy even cheaper crap that breaks even faster.

When the strategic oil reserves start to run low, we will see the full effect of the blockade of Hormuz and then we will start seeing double digit inflation again.So unless you want to cut consumption of everything then your solution won't really do anything.

China is building renewables at an insane pace... but their fossil fuel consumption is also increasing. So it's actually a great example of what I mean. Even a dictatorship, which is the industrial powerhouse of the world and has it as a goal of national security to maximise green energy still can't build it as fast as they need it.
... That is the whole point... 25% of the worlds oil production has stopped because the Hormuz strait is closed. We have been running on the combined strategic reserves of all countries in the world these last months, and they are running out soon.
I actually think this is a necessary move. There is a limit to how fast the green transition can go. Especially with USA actively working against it, and in the mean time we will still need fossil fuels. And with the Hormuz strait closed oil prices are going to get massively fucked very soon.

I have at times been guilty of this. I don't know how widespread this is, but for me it mostly comes from frustration at how amazingly politically illiterate most Americans are. This makes it so fucking frustrating to debate politics with Americans, especially the people you mostly agree with.So it's kinda like: "I agree with you, but after 10 minutes of debate I also hate you... Yeah...maybe all Americans are the problem"

Vote in all elections and all primaries. Also the small local elections. Join a union. Find protests and participate. Openly tell friends, family and coworkers your opinion on this. Call your representative and tell them your opinion. Find local politically active groups and join them. Volunteer as a poll worker and or volunteer for a campaign of a politician you like.
