Veneer chips are large, its possible to get close to colour match with veneer samples & stains, but the grain will be hard to replicate(2/3)

Restored a fair bit as a hobby, the top looks good, I would remove the finish on the top with wire wool and methylated spirit (1/3)

Its a single wedge in the middle. I removed a wedge & 2 metal wedges from the handle already but the oak wedge split up to fill those gaps

That goes in after the wedge if you need it, you should have a wooden wedge down the split in the wood
