My grandpa had stories about how Americans could afford things like a radio, a camera or a television and he was a doctor so I guess you really were a lot more prosperous than most western countries before the seventies. My dad used to work in NYC in the seventies and he lived in Newark because it was cheaper back then, don’t know if that’s still the case? he moved before I was born, I’m glad I don’t live in the us but the boomer and housing problems are pretty similar

Yeah you start out quite low and need a lot of butter, and yeah you have to stir quite a bit but not constantly. Also salt helps with the initial reduction and allows you to use a bit more heat in the beginning but never on high heat, it’s an endurance game. This would be the European style though, might be that OP did it differently. Also I try to avoid using nonstick pans because of forever chemicals and a bit of stickage can help this process in the end (especially when making soup)

The Golden Arches in Palm Beach was like the top one, however we liked the one close to home in Daytona better because it had bigger playground as I remember. Then we moved to Europe and the food was way better, clean toilets, you could make a puzzle out of the happy meal boxes and it wasn’t so f-ing hot outside
