The video only shows the synchro rings getting changed, they match the shafts speeds so the gear can engage, at low K's usually worn from people driving like it's a racecar

I worked in a gearbox shop for 5 years (been a mechanic for 26 now) if it's your first time you lay the parts out in meticulous order and have a manual handy. After rebuilding 200 of the same type you throw everything into the wash and can build it from muscle memory. We did big numbers of taxis in our shop and I can still remember where all the parts go from a BTR LE93 go
