Sorry that's just such a foreign concept to an American. I can't relate to having any worker protections at all. Even the worker protections we allegedly have here are complete fake bullshit. Companies hire 8 year olds to work in meat plants and get fined five dollars when they're maimed. Caterpillar let some guy fall into a molten iron vat because they were too cheap to spend $500 on a safety railing and got fined like $150k which will probably be appealed and reduced. It's a total joke here.
What schedule does your company usually fire people on? A month or two of advanced notice? "Hey Jim we noticed you were stealing office supplies. Just to let you know, we'll be firing you for that in a few months." ?
Everyone involved in that fiasco should be flogged to within an inch of their life - especially those who knew their evidence was faulty but prosecuted anyway.
