De Havilland Canada has now redesigned the tanker and is build the 515 which is a mostly identical airframe, with updated corrosion resistant materials and a completely updated flight deck with modernized instruments.

They are a fantastic aircraft at what they do

Actually, it was the Canada 215 that came first. Spain wanted to upgrade from the piston engines to turboprop engines, so they had Canadair do the mods on it, which improved the performance. Once finished, Canadair decided to build the 415 using what they had learned from doing the mods.

Then Bombardier bought Canadair, parked the project until Alberta and Saskatchewan wanted the upgrade. I was part of that mod program (which sucked for me), which is now owned by De Havilland Canada

The main reason for the outrageous costumes was tax evasion. Swedish law didn't charge taxes on costumes that wouldn't be worn by what was deemed as a regular person in day to day wear. So they made outrageous costumes and saved money on taxes

I spent two summers working for Securite Civle at the old tanker base in Marignane in southern France with those tankers, along with my two DASH8 tankers. The one thing that I learned was that the pilots of those planes are somewhat crazy.

I still have mine, it's a shame that it won't work on modern networks.

Dear Motorola, please make this again, not the foldable touch screen model...THIS model but give it modern electronics.

Thank you,
Everyone

I blame DeBeers for so much of the costs of weddings. The whole wedding industry is less than 150 years old, before that people just lived together and the government and church usually weren't involved

Not picking on this post but it's amazing how desensitised we are to extreme violence. Mods shut down a bit of nudity which is natural and normal yet clips from an ultra violent movie aren't even looked at. This world is fucked up.

41 years ago? Impossible. I watched that on TV that day and was blown away. There will never be another Freddie Mercury.
