#9 Could someone please enlighten me what in all circles of hell "cinema butter" is?

Ahh fuck. You're right and now I can't unsee it.

No, that's not what @DerpMeister said at all. What they did say was that Germany got conservative private TV channels in the 1990s instead of good internet because a conservative asshole channelor wanted a press that is less critical of him (where have we heard that lately...), and THAT contributed to the rise of fascism.

The fact that a "good pal" of Kohl, Leo Kirch, owned the cinema renting and TV showing rights for many hollywood blockbusters in Germany and wanted to start his own TV channels so he could more directly monetize those rights to TV viewers did "help" in the decision too. Of course Kirch happened to be quite "successful" in the application process for new TV channel licensing and was given a generous share of slots on the new TV cables...

rageshitting... if the guy wasn't doing so much damage to essentially the entire world, this would be incredibly funny.

No, they're buying cheap print-only books. Rare ones DO cost a lot of money, and are, well, rare. if you buy a truck of random leftover books, the chances of there being a rare one in them is small, and the chances of there being the last one in existence of a book in it is almost zero, because no one would sell that to an AI company for cheap when they can sell it for literally millions in an auction. But that aside, yes, they're scanning and reading books without regard for copyright.

Hm he seems to be fully aware of himself shitting. That makes me wonder if he's wearing diapers more for convenience than necessity because he literally thinks his own shit doesn't smell and that allows him to skip bathroom breaks. Which also makes me wonder how he changes them, i.e. the logistics of that. Does he have a nurse travelling with him that goes to the bathroom with him and wipes his ass? does he do it himself? Does he just not bother during the day at all? Questions over questions...

I see. Thank you for the context. And that would make no sense in the first place. Since when do prison inmates get to post on social media...

what's the background/context here? if I had to guess, loads of bots claimed to be outside the prison protesting for tate's release or something like that?

#46 The text below says "Flaisch macht Flaisch" ("Fleisch macht Fleisch" in modern German spelling, "Meat makes meat"). German is my native language, but I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

it is the way it always is with right-wingers, every accusation is a confession (or at least a statememt of intent). They claim it's eugenics or that the government supposedly chooses who dies because that's what they want to do and would do.

The peaked part probably came later.... XD

"Has not yet been granted permission to enter the US"? Like, what? Isn't that permission granted implicitly by virtue of being a citizen of the fucking country?

Okay I thought maybe you had misunderstood my post, but it seems instead of replying to the content of posts you just post unrelated statements. Please don't take this personally, but I posted about oil being too valuable to burn when it contains valuable organic compounds useful as chemical feed stock. and I'm happy to discuss that, but I don't have time to chase after someone who doesn't engage in a dialog in the subject and instead shifts the goal posts all the time. I wish you a good evening

Okay, I have to admit I'm not sure what that has to do with my statement that we should use oil as feed stock for chemical synthesis instead of just burning it?

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Of course you can access the contents of oil without oil, oil is just a mixture of organic compounds, and to make them from abundant natural materials using organic synthesis, chemists learn how to do it. It just takes extra steps, which cost energy, which in turn costs money. That's all there is to it. I'm well aware that the earth is overextended in terms of resource use, but that doesn't mean organic synthesis stopped working.

Also good: "Hosentaschennapoleon", "pants pocket napoleon". (i.e. a wanna be dictator, abusive boss, or similar)

As chemist I have to say oil is much too valuable to burn anyway. It gives us access to a plethora of chemical raw materials for chemical industrial production that would otherwise be much more expensive to obtain.

Alpine coaster, complete with Austrian accent...
Now I'm curious though, where in (presuambly) Austria is that?

She's doing the right thing. Pick your battles, don't talk to people who aren't willing to listen to your point of view and only want to push their own.

Honestly I have no idea how teslas could get roadworthiness certificates anywhere on earth. At least at the Cybertruck, the EU pulled the emergency brake and refused to certify it, but that should have happened with earlier models too.

It has made them money. Which is the only part of society they actually care about. I'm sure after OpenAIs IPO, Sam Altman is quite busy coverty converting his stock options into cash before it all comes crashing down...
