First past the post is a garbage voting system that basically makes it impossible to actually get 3rd party momentum. People have to choose between voting for the party they want and voting against the party they don't, which is a dumb decision to have to make. I don't like the mainstream Dems at all, but I still have to vote against repubs. It's a shitty choice with no room for a 3rd party option.
Insurance for ambulances is pretty high, but it's still a fuckin racket. Medics don't get paid shit, and EMTs get paid even less.

Something to remember for #5 is that we need to start looking more holistically at the economy. How well the stock market is doing shouldn't be our metric for success, but rather things like average real wage for the bottom 90% of Americans and quality of life indexes that take into account access to nutritious food and preventative healthcare. Unemployment is also not a great metric since just having a job isn't really a good indicator that you're doing well because of how unaffordable shit is.

It's likely the ER can work with a shelter or local animal control to pick up and hold the dog while the owner is there. Nurses LOVE when dogs show up at the ER. It's a pretty common thing, especially with service dogs.

Just because you know people who are bad with money doesn't mean there aren't huge systemic issues that make achieving any kind of social mobility nearly impossible. Just look at real wage over the last 40 years compared to CEO salary or company profit. The rich are getting richer and the working class is getting fucked. That's before you even touch on housing and the fact that most people can't afford homes so they rent which means no equity for long term growth.
40% of Americans can't afford a $400 emergency. People are being confronted with putting necessities on credit cards on a regular basis. Most people don't get to see debt as an investment.
I'm talking near 0. It's low enough that their assets will appreciate far faster than the interest accrues on their debt, so it's literally a case of the more debt the better. Obviously there is some risk in that their assets can depreciate suddenly, but generally this is a game plan that is not available to 99% of people. Again, very different types of debt.
Wealthy people debt and average person debt are VERY different. When you have the kind of assets rich people have, you can get CRAZY low interest, and so with wealth you can use that system to spend money and defer having to sell assets, so rich people debt is more of a useful tool for them as opposed to crushing like normal people debt

Go listen to a local tenant union, if you have one in your area. There's a surprising amount of landlords who skirt the law or ignore it entirely because they know their tenants can't afford to move. The law doesn't always protect the people it's written to protect, believe it or not.
