I think they just like how the two phrases sound.
Sure! Admittedly I might just have a chip on my shoulder about the manbearpig thing, but it really seems to me that the only consistent ideological through-line in South Park is that if you care too much you're wrong. The only position they really elevate is this sort of detached centrism which has the outward appearance of nuance but really just comes down to "hey aren't people on both sides of this issue pretty crazy?" Like take a position you cowards. I dunno. It's just always irked me.
Look, I appreciate their current place in the pushback against Trump, but I also recognize that they spent decades falsely equating democrats and republicans. A lot of young men came up uncritically regurgitating that "both sides" kind of narrative because South Park made them laugh when they were thirteen.
Probably unreasonable of me, but I blame South Park.

Some acts are so awful that they are deserving of death, but there is not one governing entity that does or could exist that I would trust with deciding what amount of proof is sufficient for meeting out that punishment. You can release an exonerated inmate from a life sentence, but you can't un-dead someone.
