From what I read from Terrace herself (can't find it right now but I'm sure it's somewhere on the web) it was a spectacle to literally see their faces fall down and silently go "oooooohhh, FUCK".

Yeah, the Dutch did that to one of their prime ministers back in the day, and not even over a cpital offense. That said, I have no problem with the guillotinings being restricted viewing (like American executions are), as the latter ones were (last public execution by guillotine was 1939, final use of the guillotine was 1977). The tool makes the statement more than the venue, methinks.

Understandable. Cishet dude myself but trying my autistic hot mess best to be an ally. Plus I from what I heard it's just a really good cartoon show and I still love those at 47.

Not sure what you mean, and at this point don't care. It's this kind of petty infighting you insist on that cripples us on the left while fascists, conservatives, liberals and "centrists" make out like bandits right in our faces. Congrats.

...Huh. Drugs? Drugs.

Haven't even watched the show yet and I still feel robbed. At least Dana Terrace got to see the execs' faces when they realized they dun goofed (the NYCC 2022 panel, if I recall).

Me neither. Probably wouldn't be a horror movie.

LOLno, just saw the downvotes to my original comment. And I never said you, specifically, represented everyone. Just that you thought the same as the groupthink. You're not the group as a whole, but you are part of it.

I have questions. But I don't think I want them answered.

It read like you did.

Good to know nobody understands what I'm talking about. Or whose side I'm on. I didn't say "free Palestine" because I support Israel's genocide.

Still better than bonfires.

Did Jerry say something awful? Honest question, so much going on in the Torment Nexus it's hard to keep up.

Eh, I'd rather use the guillotine both as a political statement/callback, and as an indication that we're far more humane (swift, painless death VS condemning millions to lives of misery).

(Also carte blanche for slow settler colonialism-based genocide and erasure of Palestinians)

While I understand the sentiment, this implies we humans are, by nature, good (to whom I say, read a history book). This cognitive bias (as well as the underlying dehumanization of assholes) has a lot of unwanted consequences down the line, from being blindsided by people "revealing" their true colors (even though they never really hid them) to actually advocating for the genocide of Israelis (which I have seen advocates for from both sides of the political spectrum).
Anyway free Palestine.

Before that we should transplant in your head a brain that's actually smart.

I remember that movie. Kinda different from Black's subsequent roles.

You all voted for Trump, my guy That's enough. Otherwise, false equivalency and hyperbole.

No. That's just stupid. Shitty conspiracy theories should be left (heh) to the right.

Welp. Now I want me one of those.

It's always cynical at first, but after a time they start drinking their own kool-aid and believing their own lies, even if they objectively know they lied. the "fuck your feelings" crowd works exclusively based on their own feelings.

Superman was never meant to be a smug self superior bastion of conservatism, but the problem is that for the early post-Golden Age of Comics period until the end of the Silver Age (roughly 1946-1971) he was often written as one due to several factors; he hasn't been that way from the 70s onwards in comics, but unfortunately many people grew up with that version, and ancillary media's portrayals have often been inspired by that period (but not its silliness unless Mr Mxyzptlk is involved).

Schrödinger's Deal, basically, but with Israel as the uncertainty factor. We're fucked.

So basically the medical profession in the US (and likely elsewhere) is still grossly misogynistic. Yey.

They never admitted to Reagan's Alzheimer's, they definitely won't admit Trump's problems.

Yes, but at what price? Remember that the man, for all his senile, mentally deficient, narcissistic delusional buffonery, is a vindictive monster. He could and would target service members who'd "humiliate" him for refusing. The Ministry of War and the Pentagon is filled with yes-men who care more about beta-carotene overdosed Dear Leader than military conduct, rules, law, and ethics.

TBF the Democrats are also remarkably good at not doing shit to stop him either... Even considering they have neither the House or the Senate they're making a rather poor showing of themselves.
