That said, I have no problem with the guillotinings being restricted viewing (like American executions are), as the latter ones were (last public execution by guillotine was 1939, final use of the guillotine was 1977). While I understand the sentiment, this implies we humans are, by nature, good (to whom I say, read a history book). This cognitive bias (as well as the underlying dehumanization of assholes) has a lot of unwanted consequences down the line, from being blindsided by people "revealing" their true colors (even though they never really hid them) to actually advocating for the genocide of Israelis (which I have seen advocates for from both sides of the political spectrum).Anyway free Palestine.
