The people who protest, I see them getting food for hungry children. The people who talk about how much everyone else should fight, just makes excuses. The online coaches sure aren't doing alot of vigilante justice where they live, no killing of the fascists before they rise up. Sadly, they aren't doing much helping people either.

I haven't heard anything about festivals or what have you, so, you'd have to show me what you read on it. Last protest was a few months back in March. The organizers also do mutual aid work, mutual aid isn't flashy or gets headlines but it gets resources to some people who need it badly.
So, festival or not, I don't believe it's feel good, mutual aid isn't glamorous but it's boots on the group help for people and I think it deserves respect.
I wasn't doing this with the assumption everyone lives in the US. Trump is a threat to global stability, so none of us has an excuse anymore.
The short answer is no, fascism is in the rise and you will also do less than protesting. So, yeah, it comes off as smug when people talk up how little it does to protest but turns out they aren't going to do what they suggest either.

I can have some respect for people that went outside and made themselves visible rather than anonymously coaching them offline. I try to organize in my community but none of are part of the militia dragging a tyrant out, right?

This whole situation taught me something. Putting your body out there takes some mettle, especially when your government employs secret police forces. Sure, with enough people could storm the halls, but all the people who say it never gather and train their militia to do it.
Atleast, when you go to a protest, you're out in the open, that atleast says you're willing to get brutalized to say it. I keep hearing how much more everyone else should have done but not stepping up to do it.
