His hearings into "un-American activities" (their name for it) destroyed careers and lives. His chief counsel was Roy Cohn, an even more loathsome prick, later became the personal lawyer and mentor of Donold tRump, who's far more loathsome than the other two combined. McCarthy and Cohn also went after homosexuals even though Cohn was gay.

He seems to admire all dictators, it's very clear he wants that for himself. He wants to be Emperor of the world. Many examples like when he said "I want the kind of generals that Hitler had" or when he sees everyone performing those insanely well organized military parades for Kim Jong Un he wanted that for himself and said something to that effect. The GOP fascism project isn't going fast enough for his liking.

- North korea: stalin inspired socialism mixed with extreme nationalism -> not communism
- Russia: not communism nor socialism anymore
- China: socialism (even though the leading party is communist)
The US anti-communism propaganda has always been about finding an easy scapegoat so people don't realize all their problems come from capitalism. Nowadays communism is also way different than early 1900 communism but you'll still hear the same sht anyway ;)

Is North Korea even communist? I don't think any country is communist today. The closest is Cuba, since the rest are more of a capitalist dictatorship. Or North Korea which is just dictatorship. Cuba probably would have stopped being communist if not for Trumps involvement. In 2016 they were starting to open up.

People have no idea what communism really is about. True communism is a lot more noble than people think, but the cold war didn't do it many favors because of propaganda and because of how they were being lead. In reality most nations, if not all, claiming to be communist are/were in fact dictatorships. Redistribution of the means of production sounds cool in theory, but is very susceptible to abuse. The people in charge of the redistribution always end up being dictators

If China can ensure peace guarantees, since China has it's own formal defense pact with North Korea, then WHAT is the problem?

As relations with North Korea gradually thaw and the hostile state between the two Koreas come to an end. This inevitably makes US security guarantees less indispensable for SK, or outright obsolete. Also, given Japan is attempting to revive it's own militarism, South Korea will inevitably want to strengthen ties with China anyway.
South Korea is an even worse hyper capitalist dystopia than the continental US is. Leaning towards China is the best thing South Korea could possibly do.

not really. lots of countries have pretty good life outcomes. vietnam and china, for example, are pretty decent places to live especially compared to the USA which shows that capitalism fuckin' sucks balls.

You should find a Uyghur and tell them about your terrible life. Or maybe visit either of those places and see the standard of living for the vast majority of people. I've been to both. They are cool to visit, and to work as a privileged westerner who gets better wages due to their skin tone, but not so awesome for the average person.

I literally work in Humanitarian sector. Ive seen horrors you wouldn't believe. Vietnam and China are pretty good places to be born. Not perfect, but pretty good.
