Their support was always paper thin. They only started supporting trans rights 10 years ago, back when transgender people were becoming more and more accepted. Then Trump and MAGA happened. So now that transgender people are under constant assault, it's no longer convenient to support them. Fairweather and self serving support.
Then you finally embrace it and get stuck on a project where you're explicitly told not to use AI despite the company at large practically demanding you use it for the past 6 months.
Growing up as as a POC in America (in the 90s and 00s), I was truly made to feel like everything is thanks to white men. Yet the more time that has passed the more I've see how much has come from minorities and women...it's simply frustrating to know how much of reality is glossed over to perpetuate that myth. Can't imagine it's much better for kids these days with the priorities of the current admin...
Be it a medicine,software development, legal work, structural engineering, whatever... the litmus test, in my opinion, of using AI for something is "Is the person qualified enough to intelligently prompt it and to critically evaluate the output?" If so, it's just an extremely useful tool. Otherwise, it's worrisome. A doctor using AI to help inform his decision making? Why not. A doctor using AI to design the new wing of the hospital? ....I'm not visiting that wing.
If it makes the racist feel better, how French they are considered is directly correlated to how well they're doing. They get more qualifiers the less stellar the news is.
Even if you have a wide vocabulary, it still boils down to the question of "why use that word?" Things like this just reveal a person's character. You know what it sounds like, you know how people will react, you're deliberating provoking negative interactions so you can be "right." Nothing but immaturity.
While I agree with you that opponents will always find some other manner of attack and respectability politics in general isn't the answer... A slogan that is straight up misleading is problematic regardless. There are people, who also lack basic critical thinking skills and only take shit in at the surface level, who go around saying DTP because they think it means get rid of the police and they support that idea. Try advancing your cause when some people on your side even misunderstand it.
"Defund the police" means to reallocate budget to other services so they don't have to try to handle everything, not abolish the police. "Mansplain" means discrediting a woman's credentials and experience to assume you know more, not simply a man explaining something to a woman. "Only white people can be racist" refers to the ability to impose systemic discrimination, not that literally no one else can be bigoted. It's frustrating how many reasonable thoughts become stupidly misleading slogans.
These images make her look so sexy that I didn't even realize who she was until I saw Raphael. And no, no I am not complaining about that in the slightest.
Terminator is played by an immigrant too. Though he's white, so it's alright.
The thing to keep in mind is that all those prominent, critical comments with upvotes? Those upvotes are coming from all the non-conservatives lurking on the forum to see how they're trying to spin things. Give it a few days for the voyeuristic interest to die down and for the talking points to disseminate and it's a more obvious cesspool.
On the bright side, Afrofuturism and "what ifs..." makes for some of the coolest settings.
Can you imagine the people today who whine "Why make everything about race!?" just sitting and listening respectfully to your answer?

The more realistic example would have been him favoring a certain color when he "randomly" selected from the box, but he didn't even address that - just looked at the distribution without bias. And yea, that is exactly what Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion seeks: a closer to perfect distribution of cups. The fact it won't happen naturally (even without the very real bias) is more reason for it. At least when someone considers diversity to be valuable

What is on that front page is basically: "Trump alienating our allies," "Trump undermining the global economy," "Trump harming American global standing" "Where is the opposition to Trump?" and "Trump flip flops on previous stance to pander to bigots." I'd like the Musk affair to get the attention it deserves as well, but you can't say they aren't putting things out there.
Trump administration took it down the first time too. Biden brought it back so Trump got rid of it again.
"Hey Dem voters, look at how little Biden.. and by extension, Kamala Harris... is doing to stop all of the atrocities we're committing! Be a shame if you just sat out the vote..." <- Netanyahu to the US while rubbing his grubby hands together and waiting for Trump to win so he'd have the freedom to do anything and everything he wants.
That trail could very well be like that too. Didn't stop that obstacle from being there all the same.
It's not that blacks "got it so good," it's that they "got it too good" to these people.
I feel like I'm missing something here. Is this not just a joke about Germany's history of Nazism? Yet so many comments are defensive retorts to the original tweet about white people having done some horrible things in the past. It's rather telling.
Many a fictional world has told me that a god's power is derived from the prayers of its followers. With so many nonbelievers, God may have fallen out of the omnipotent tier...that prayer power is needed to save her!

Remember that for every extraordinary, inspirational person like this... there were a hundred other ordinary black kids, limited by society, who still could have been so much more if not for the color of their skin.
What do people want them to say? "I'm just a bigot and throwing out a reason to hide behind?" Because that's all it's ever been. Good thing we have logical, secular people who have moved beyond religion... now they discriminate against queers to protect children from indoctrination!
