I live in NC too and worked for a county board of elections. If you register as unaffiliated you can choose at each primary to vote for either Dem or Rep. If there is a run off you have to stay with what you chose initially. In general elections both get the same local ballot.

In orienteering and wilderness survival class they teach if you are lost in the woods, to always pick a point and walk toward it. Never just walk or you will end up walking in circles.
Definitely, I love all 3 of those courses. Diavolo is well worth the drive to Cary if you haven't played there.
