God I hated the notion that wizarding society were all idiots when it came to muggles and technology and weapons. I just hated it. It was so incredibly dense. There are several non-Christian sources, including Tacitus, a Roman senator and historian who wrote of Jesus' execution and the sect that he led; and according to the article, there are enough reliable and independent sources to affirm that he existed, had siblings, and trace some of his activities.
There's a fair amount of historical evidence for Jesus having been an actual person. No historical evidence for him being the son of God though, understandably.
