In the case of nordic mythology, it doesn't really make a lot of sense to talk about technicalities, since we have so few proper sources (and the ones we have are mostly by christians, who we can assume would have put a bit of their own spin on things), and the characters and stories are quite complex (as so many deities, whose mythology has developed both over time and over several different cultures *looking at you, god of the abrahamic religions*) 1/
