Everyone hates on rap. Here are some good rappers.

Mos Def

Both a Muslim and a rapper, he has a way of telling stories in his songs. Although currently no longer rapping, he focused a lot on world issues and has a great old school feel to most of his music.

Joey Bada$$

A guy in his 20's who recognizes the shitty rap and calls it out. He has a 90's Brooklyn vibe to his music.

Logic

In my opinion he's currently a lot worse than he used to be, but his old mix-tapes are amazing. He was in his prime while "coming up", and he focuses on positivity and raps about his hometown a lot.

Dizzy Wright

He's a hippie stoner who mainly raps about world peace. Not the best lyricist, but has a great positive energy.

Guru (Gang Starr)

Old school rapper who has great beats and his metaphors are really complex.

Kendrick Lamar

Most of you probably know who this is, but check out his music that isn't played on the radio. It's more complex and tells amazing stories.

Big L

Harlem-born rapper who uses his hometown as a basis for most of his music.

Nas

Considered one of the greatest rappers alive, namely for his debut album illmatic.

Mobb Deep

These guys rap about gang violence and they boast about their guns and stuff. Most of their music is really dark. Great energy as well.
