#memes #none_of_my_business. I don’t think many people realize how unlikely the shot hitting its target actually is. It takes significant training, discipline, and preparation to make it happen. There is a very real chance this was orchestrated to draw attention away from the Epstein files.

200m with a scoped 30-06 from a prone position is not a particularly challenging shot. The average person could be taught to make that shot consistently in a a single range session.

It feels like a lot of you have no idea how many people in the US were raised around guns and can shoot a rifle. This isn't some special advanced skill. This is just basic shooting. 40% of US household have guns, that's about 50 million households. Let's say 10% have shot a rifle. That's 5,000,000 people. There are plenty of people who could do this. There's no need for ridiculous Bluanon conspiracies.

it's really not that hard with a proper zero and knowing your hold for that that range, especially with a magnified optic. any decent hunter in that area would be able to make a shot like that on a deer with a rifle just like that. and the downward angle doesn't do much to change the point of impact. you can easily calculate it with a ballistic calculator app on a phone

Marine Crop?

The challenge of the shot aside, firing downward on a target is counterintuitive, and you need to hold lower, as the bullet drop is less from the line of aim, and the shot will go high. That could easily make a chest shot into a neck shot.

200yd is not that hard, especially woth a properly equipped and sighted in rifle. I’ve personally hit at 800yd using an app to calculate trajectory.

Yeah as a Marine Corp trained rifleman.. I'm not going with the " trained marksman" here. His aim was significantly off. Also a 30.06 Mauser is a big round meant for heavy brush. The people saying he was a regular hunter are probably right . The .308 is a more normal round for snipers.

I feel you are drastically overestimating the difficulty, on the marksmanship side at least. Current revised number I see on wiki is 142 yards. I’ve made melon sized groupings at that range with a 100$ mosin nagant and a shitty 7x scope that cost even less. With high caliber, that’s just plinking. You aren’t taking a skilled sniper threat seriously until you secure rooftops and sight lines for 1000 yards or more (emphasis on the “more”).

He was such a clever shooter that he got away clean after only one round fired, but tossed the rifle in the woods with "pro trans" messaging on the bullets along with fingerprints to be found by the FBI??

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's really not that hard, cousin Cletus and every other deer hunter out there can do the same on the regular. Folks need to stop acting like the sniper was aiming for the neck.

10 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

If they were a trained sniper, the neck would literally be their last target.
Because they are trained to aim for the chest, the neck or head are simply too small to be reliable targets.
Even conventional fire arms training tells people to always aim centre of mass because it's a more reliable shot.
So if they are as trained as people want to think they are, then they wouldn't have hit the neck unless they missed their shot and shot high. And just got lucky their shot we centred enough to hit.

I mean a 30-06 should have pretty much decapitated but the theory I heard to explain it was that the round hit him in the chest and ricocheted up into the neck. Can't find much in the way of clips to confirm not on twitter any more but his shirt did kinda look like it had a ballistic plate under it with the crease lines.

I'll say if the bullet ricocheted into his neck that might be proof a higher power wanted him dead I mean the odds of that angle when almost any angle would have been safe...

There's always the specter of false flag raising it's ugly head here.

I mean, the US does have a lot of Vets who would have the skills to do it.
And there's any number of reasons why one of them might go after him.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was a semiskilled shot for anyone that was in the military. And there are millions of veterans in the U.S. A patient person with a properly zeroed in rifle, firing from a prone position, could easily make that shot with iron sights.

I hate to break it to you but the average redneck goes shooting for fun frequently. It doesn't take a special op to pull a shot like that off. That being said I'm 93.6% certain trump had him killed as a distraction.

200m, yes, I can do that pretty easily. But at a downward angle where gravity takes effect, not a lot of people target practice that. Far fewer when you see how fast the shooter had to set up and then bug out. Very little preparation time.

Except for anybody that knew exactly where the venue was and watched them set it up. He's not like the president he doesn't have the secret service scanning the skyline for abnormalities. He could have laid up there for an hour and nobody notice him.

So ive read through comments here and a lot of people are against the idea of a professional shooter because of the placement of the shot and chosen ammo. However, if you were trying to make it look like an experienced hunter and not a trained killer, wouldnt the professional be able to place a shot anywhere they choose? "Hey Jim, make it look like a mistake to throw the internet sleuths off the trail."

Wouldn't that put the guy on a really short list of potential suspects? I'd think they could have found the guy by now.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My money is that if they catch this guy, he will “commit suicide” just before the police take him. Can’t have it come out that he is a right wing hardliner

I admit, something really weird is happening here. Coincidence? Hand signal to a shooter? I don't want to dive down a conspiracy rabbit hole, but this is rather weird.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Security using hand signals is nothing new.

10 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Which makes me curious what they were signaling about. Maybe one of them saw something suspicious seconds before the shooting happened, but I'd like to know more on this. Surprised the shooter has not been apprehended yet.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Coincidence.

10 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

white shirt guy probably, but black shirt guy moves with intention

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Black shirt guy has been on Kirk’s security detail for years. Him making a hand signal does not in any way mean he’s signaling the shooter.

My guess is he was aiming for the head and the shot landed a few inches low, still a very difficult shot

10 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

The first part, most likely. The skill level of the shot. It's subjective. It does denote practice though.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If they were trained, they would have gone for centre of mass.
Heads too small of a target, so the risk of a miss is extremely high.
So they were likely aiming for his chest and shot too high.
If they went for a headshot, they likely would have missed.

10 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Center of mass is a risk though, the target might live

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes, but if they miss their first shot, their odds of getting a second drop drastically.
But if they get a chest shot, he's not going to be able to duck for cover before a second round.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haven't heard for sure yet but I thought from watching the video that he did get hit in the chest. The neck was the exit wound. Looked like just under his left nipple then it must've bounced off his spine and went up and out.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's not how bullet trajectories work.
No way for a single shot to enter from a downwards shot into the chest, to then cause an exist would out of the neck.
Even if it bounced, there are too many bones in the way for it to come out of the neck.
The geometry simply doesn't work.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If he was aiming for the head and got the neck, this guy is RIDICULOUSLY skilled. 6 inches off target at 200m

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 11

With all factors included, that points to either extensive training or lifetime familiarity with weapons. Especially since being low means they miscalculated drop and not wind. Means he can seat his finger correctly, too.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I would guess they were actually aiming for the chest and shot high.
Centre of mass is the most reliable target, it's larger with more kill spots within it.
Whereas the head and neck increase the odds of missing dramatically.
And it also means if you do shoot high, there's a chance to hit the neck or head. Which is likely the case here.

10 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You’ve never shot a hunting rifle have you? As long as you have something to hold the gun steady (a given if firing prone) and a half decent scope, this is not a challenging shot.

10 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I wouldnt go that far, 200m isn't all that far im more impressed with staying calm and on target with everything going on around him, controlling adrenaline in that situation is much more impressive, now there's that link to the jet standing by and all of a sudden him being a trained shooter becomes alot more plossible

10 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

A lot of deer hunters take 200m shots and hit, so while it's not an easy shot, it's also not unheard of for people to make. Especially if they how a powerful enough rifle.

10 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would add that at 200m a human target is extremely small, specially the head/neck, 100% optics were used for the shot

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, and that's why my gut says they were aiming for the chest and shot high.
As that's what anyone with any amount of training would do, because that's literally where they are trained to shoot.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Optics are extremely common these days.

10 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone who can’t hit a stationary target at 200 yards with a 30-06 shouldn’t be hunting.
