Nothing screams “power belongs to the people” quite like a fucking billionaire discovering decentralization precisely when his company starts losing.
Funny how principles arrive right after market share leaves.
Suddenly concentrated tech power is fucking TERRIFYING—but apparently only when someone else has it. What an astonishing coincidence.

Big "my brand of greedy evil is way better than anyone else's brand of greedy evil" vibes.
OldNternetWizard43
He needs to allow Facebook to become a global co-op and go sit on his millions somewhere there aren't any children, just in case. After them not releasing the files every CEO is sus

We know not monsters we create, but Toho Studios will be there to market them.

God, this guy suuucks
MojoRoho
Who could of seen that coming and oh no...
ElbowDeepInUserSub
That's the thing about evil. These fuckers will gleefully participate as long as they think they might be the winner, or end up with a major slice of the pie. The moment they find themselves getting cut out, they want to be the voice of reason and hope that we'll thank and congratulate them for turning on the others, conveniently forgetting that they're one of them.

Drug Lord mentality: chance at massively improving yr sad ordinary lot, but if you lose, you lose yr life.

Meta AI Data Center
MrNobodyLivesHere
Is this a surprise, he couldn't even make Metaworld (or whatever it's called) look better than Roblox.
HisRoyalMajestyKingV
Hey, isn't this the same guy who pays Nazis to increase engagement on Facebook?
PennsylvaniaPalindrome
I thought only the guy on Xwitter did that.
HisRoyalMajestyKingV
Nah, though that guy MIGHT start getting offended that "some Jew" is trying to muscle in on his catering-to-Nazis scheme.
Sunshine12345
Meta is stagnant. Most companies jumping on the AI wagon just look desperate and sad, trying to be hip and trendy instead worthwhile. Hell, some companies might experience growth if they make the point that they aren’t going to use AI.
BastardMan1977
Fuck mark zuckerberg. I hope he gets cancer
rossimus
Too slow. Must go faster.
krill3
Pretty sure at that wealth you can just buy a custom cure for exactly your cancer

I hope his mega yacht is seized for failing to render aid to a sinking ship.

*hand on shoulder meme*
He is the cancer.
PourMeAPuppersPlease
And yet millions have naively joined facebook without question, and continue to do so. While I still think he's horrible, the real issue is society.
HypoMix
Listen to the Behind the Bastards episode. Horrifying.

Im sure his mother (psychiatrist) is well regarded in the mental health community has Facebook clearly did miracles for teenager’s mental health in general

Said the same thing in a discord server and I got a warning from discord about "threatening violence"
themobileappisbroken
That's not a punishment for billionaires because they're still billionaires the entire time they're dying.
Punishment for billionaires is to lose their money, assets, status and influence.
yamsonyamsonyams
Im watching my dad die of pancreatic cancer
No amount of money makes the suffering stop. Drugs can dull it, but you can’t really medicate away the pain and discomfort from an abdomen riddled with cancer
If you’re trying to treat it it’s almost worse - tbe chemo destroys your mental faculties and your taste buds, not to mention thr nausea of 1,000 hangovers every minute of your life
If you have my family 50 billion it wouldn’t stop any of it
tonehoundsmoser9
And THEN get cancer
Goldensands
Just fking guillotine them and let's stop debating
RumailMaxlowBaronVonAlabasterSerenitydePeriwinkleXXIII
Honestly, many cancers - even the treatment for the more survivable ones - really is a terrible punishment despite that. The loss of energy, the pain and discomfort, the fog, it takes everything. You can't even jump after a point, you just try and you just don't go anywhere.
So what I'm saying is he should get aggressive colon cancer and also have all his shit taken away while slowly dying from it.
AnOceanOfStars
Also, if they're dying while keeping money, they might get the idea of burning the world so everyone else suffers too.
Oh, wait, are they all already terminally ill?
livingonagiantfireball
Well if you poke his eyes out, poke his ears out, cut his tongue and slice his 2 hands, he might not be dead but enjoy your new life.
SeasonedCitizen
Billy Ray Valentine taught us that.
OriginalAndWitty
I don't get it... hundreds of billions of dollars and it's not enough? Just fuck off, bro. Grats, you won capitalism, now go live your life however you want for the rest of you life, you don't NEED anymore money or power; fucking psychopaths, seriously, anyone with.... let say over 10 billion dollars in wealth should be thrown out of society, one way or another; they work to benefit no one but themselves and other super wealthy assholes.
AgainstMethod
There are some things money can't buy. Turns out one of them is a frontier AI model.
rbudrick
I've heard it repeated that 300 mil is where people entirely lose grip with reality, where money can buy anything and break any rule. Sounds right, but guess I'll never know for sure.
GroverKerr
Being a billionaire and not immediately using that power to lift others is a MORE ACCURATE indicator of societal risk than someone who committed murder. It should result in arrest and seizure of assets. People should be afraid to ever be caught being a billionaire.
Billionaires do not benefit the world. They operate outside of countries, laws, cultures, and societies. They exist as a parody of Greek gods only interested in pathetic attempts to one-up each other, at any cost.
GrimleyGraves
It' called "addiction"
iamahorriblemonsterwhodeservesdeath
I think 100% tax on everything over $10 million is a fair compromise. You're richer than most people, you don't ever have to work (can live off the interest on 5m), and people won't be rolling a guillotine up to your front steps because society will be doing okay. Everyone wins.
Anyone with more money than that who doesn't like it gets a complimentary guillotine.
WaxedApple
The irredeemable sociopathy cut off is much, much lower. We could lose everyone over $100 million and society would be better for it. I'd argue $10 million but there are some people who perform actual work who could conceivably have earned that much
TI99Kitty
We could split the difference.
The instant your wealth goes from $999,999.99 to $1 billion, you get a special plaque or trophy, you get inducted into the Capitalism Hall of Fame, and you're no longer allowed to complete. You have to fuck off to an island somewhere and live off the interest from your billion dollars.
WaxedApple
We release the execution squads and you have to divest yourself before they find you. They can still have a commemorative plaque and a small urn.
sevro77
Didn't they fail with that virtual world shit they were trying to build?
southflhitnrun
They have only grown through acquisition, ever, and have failed at every SINGLE startup idea they have created.
CraftyGiant
Yep they gave up and shut it down, too few users.
Bizarkly
You mean that shitty attempt to reimagine Second Life? (Which -- surprisingly -- is *still bopping along* even at this late date...)
GrimleyGraves
yep, they were late to a party that had already wrapped up.
Babomonkey
Badly. And their new creeper glasses aren't doing so hot either.
jesuisgur
They are begining to use them to train AI to figure out the real world, not just books. Be scared. Be really scared.
Coltaine
Meta has failed at most things after Facebook. Other than raising public ire anyway.
IMakeLotsOfReferencesAndRemakes
Hey now don't discredit their accomplishments like telecom deals in third world countries that don't count FB usage towards data limit so Zuck can control huge amounts of the population's whole interaction with the internet. Such innovation very wow.
NotSomoneElse68
He had one kinda good idea that someone else had first then got seriously lucky. But of course every billionaire thinks they're a genius, so he keeps trying to come up with the next thing for Meta - and he really sucks at it.
Colopty
Only other successes that come to mind are Instagram and React. The latter is the only decent thing they've made tbh.
Coltaine
Didn't they buy Instagram? Never heard of React.
Colopty
They bought it two years after it was first launched and have been running it successfully since then, so...
React is a web framework for building interactive web pages. Not really something you would've heard about unless you work in tech, but it's very prevalent in web development, being the second most used web technology in 2025 right in the heels of node.js. If you're browsing a website these days chances are it's built on technology by Meta.
