Sat down with a plan, hit record, forgot it all. Thanks a lot ADHD brain and lack of thyroid hormones because Walgreens keeps delaying my prescription but I should be able to finally get them today… I’m coming up on 7 years cancer free after a total thyroidectomy on August 30th!

In non brain fart news, my campaign for my D&D album is 32% funded with 27 days left! If 22 people pledged to the $30 tier for a physical copy, I’d be able to meet my base goal to cover everything for the physical prints, packaging, shipping plus taxes and fees collected by Kickstarter. We were out on a walk and came down the hill to find it. For the last several nights the cops have sat on that street corner. If you live in that area, stay cautious.

Oh legit and that’s exactly why the cop has been on guard duty lmao It’s probably the most involved his jobs been in awhile. They’re also likely aware that people have been taking them tf down in other areas too. It’s just wild. There have also been more license plate readers going up but people haven’t really done as much about those and I wonder if it’s because they’re not as obvious unless you know what to look for. This camera is waaaay obvious.

Oh no for real lmao it’s such an aggravating feeling too lol You know you meant to do something, you get all the way there and then wooooop nothing in your noggin. Sometimes I just have to retrace my steps to jog my memory depending on what it is.

My thing is to go into the garage to get a screwdriver to fix something, putter in the garage for a bit, go back inside and sit down, think, "If I had a screwdriver, I could fix this", remember that was why I was in the garage in the first place, sigh loudly, and go to the garage.
With luck, I don't forget again, but my record for forgetting is 3 times

I feel this. They say memory is the second thing to go, but I can’t remember what the first one was.

Lmao this exactly. It just sucks because with having no thyroid, on top of memory issues there’s just daily functioning issues and then your calcium level drops. I’ve not slept well in several days due to tetany brought on by hypocalcemia and I’ve had near constant headaches among other issues. They keep delaying my thyroid meds but gave me my calcitriol and said it’s because they’re having to get them from a new manufacturer.

That sounds so frustrating I'm sorry! I've been dealing with *something* (still trying to get diagnosed) lately and the brain fog is REAL. There are times where I struggle to answer yes/no questions. Thankfully it's not usually THAT bad, but seeing #1 reminded me that I'm not alone in this bullshit lol, thank you! I hope you're able to get the meds soon!

Yea definitely have your T3 and T4 levels checked. Far too often people have a thyroid problem and have NO IDEA because for whatever reason no doctor thinks to check similarly with how people will have low iron for years and not know until they’re so ill they can’t leave bed. We have no idea how long I had hyperthyroidism and cancer before it was diagnosed and even then it took 5 years to finally have everything removed because I had 3 endocrinologists in that time.

Yes I have, they're both in range thankfully, but thank you for the suggestion! I ended up doing an out of pocket private blood work up because I'd heard so many stories of things like this where something was missing (not surprisingly, all for women) that was missed by "normal" Dr tests. Nothing new came up wonky for me, but at least I know it's not low Ferritin or something less commonly tested for. It's crazy how many things get missed!!!

Thankfully (?) I was admitted to the hospital after an ER visit and they actually took me seriously and ran a ton of tests. Lots of heavy metals, lyme disease, vitamin panels, etc.
We're now at EKG. ECG. EMG. CNS. Brain MRI. Back MRI. Lumbar puncture. Over 100 blood tests. Still no answers, neurologist today now wants to run an EMG.
We've ruled a ton of things out, but are still waiting for anything conclusive. So far I'm healthy as heck except one test had elevated ANA, so maybe autoimmune.

Yea like I said, it’s been 7 years on the 30th that I’ve been officially cancer free but my god it opened up a whole new can of worms after that. They damaged my right vocal cord and vagus nerve during the surgery so now I can’t scream or do a lot of things vocally, completely lost my ability to sing which Im still grieving to this day and I have dysautonomia. My thyroid was so enlarged due to the tumors and cysts it was crushing my esophagus making it especially hard to remove causing damage.
