a block of dry ice

Wax (AKA a huge ass candle)

Ice

A rib-eye steak

Glue

A bowl of Jell-O

A gargantuan gummy bear...

the same gargantuan gummy bear...

Oh bother...

Annnnd styrofoam (prepare for hnnnnnnng)

Cat tax

Bonus cat tax and Worcestershire https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgNjCSGFfYetqrZxlYiU8yWaBs-XMmdqg

TIL soap handles red hot nickel surprisingly well

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So basically we should build the hull of the space shuttle out if water melons?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Get inside that fucking watermelon you metal ball

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I knew the jungle plum would be resilient!

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Jungle plum. Never heard that. I like it!

Synopsis: Firefighters should now exclusively wear watermelon suits.

11 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Our gear is pretty good, but the watermelon one would be refreshing during summer. However I'm noping out of it for winter

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

my foreskin will look like an anteater after that.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can hear the styrofoam squeaking from here. It makes me shudder.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

watermelon is a tough motherfucker

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Did the glue sorta remind anyone else of Voldemort being reborn? No? Just me?

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

the glue one was thoroughly traumatizing, yes.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's OK, my phone has WiFi.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I couldn't help but wonder would human skin and internals boil like the gel analogue?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, because ballistics gelatin is jello, but with the same penetrative properties as pig muscles. When it comes to HEAT, still jello.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Prob more like the steak

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's what I thought when I saw that one, but the steak gif shows what would probably happen to actual flesh

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That gummy bear one was both horrifying and satisfying when it finally went through.

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I was on the edge of my seat. "The gummy bear's gonna shit it out isn't it? ISN'T IT? DO IT YOU SLUT!"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was like something out of a really gorey film.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Prepare your anus.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am sorry, but no amount of science is a good reason to ruin a rib-eye steak.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What happened with the honey that made him go "Oh shit"?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It boiled, similar to hot oil.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sand was good too.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sand kinda dissapointed me. Dunno why, but secretly hoped it woud become glass

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too random citizen, me too.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These aren't as fun to watch without the satisfying plip noise when he turns off the fire.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This is from a YouTube channel. This guys spends his whole life doing this . . . again and again and again

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would not at all mind making money with a DIY HHO torch and burning everything you can think of.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't be messing around with that glowing orb. Did you see what happened to those people that messed with the Loc Nar in Heavy Metal?

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Dry Ice DGAF, sitting there all sublime.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For something that boils at room temperature, it was impressively calm.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the cat was next. What a ride that was.

11 years ago | Likes 794 Dislikes 6

Yeah, what OP replied.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Annnnnnnnnd cat.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A hummus bear sounds disgusting

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sand and the watermelon be like: we don't give a tiny rat's ass, while beer is like: SWEET JESUS NOOOOooooo!!!

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

You should be ashamed of yourself. You ruined a perfectly good steak.

11 years ago | Likes 100 Dislikes 0

Much must be sacrificed in the name of science.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hank Hill would ask him politely, yet firmly, to leave.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

No, he seared a perfectly good steak. Season the other side, toss is on a grill, and eat it anyway!

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I was crying on the inside about it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wanted to see it cut in half afterwards to see how done it was

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was hoping he'd cut it in half to see how much of it cooked through.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I bet it smelt bloody amazing though

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well he stole these from someone on YouTube sooo

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And honey! Do you know how hard the bees worked on that?!?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you scroll down and a gif is in the middle: right-click, show controls. Some of these are kind of.... long...

How could you not include the popcorn and ping pong ball ones?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

<.< Doesn't that mean it's a WebM, or does Imgur auto convert some GIFs to WebMs?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you, the perfect time to remember this tip is right after I've waiting for all of these to start again from half way!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nice gallery.. but you are using AKA where you mean i.e or e.g

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I think we need to have a long talk about your substance abuse. Especially #6. Alcohol abuse is no joke.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Impressive displays by bar of soap and watermelon

11 years ago | Likes 290 Dislikes 0

The soap was actually pretty nice to look at at first.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really expected it to go through the soap like a hot knife through butter.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There is one out there of a hockey puck too. Hockey puck couldn't give no fucks.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

TIL it's a good thing my MIL gives us 17 bars of soap as gifts every holiday. House on fire? Left me grab my soap-suit!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

NASA should take some clues as to what to make the next thermal plating out of...

"Watermelon shuttle to ground control, we are a go for launch"

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What soap is that??

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hand soap

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Certainly not Lava soap

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bar of soap looks like a demons vagina

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Nah, the gummybear one looks more like that.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't talk about OP's mom like that.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was surprised the dry ice won the battle against the red hot nickel ball....

11 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Sand also gave zero fucks ... no wonder why it gets used in foundries as floor covering in kilns and ovens.

11 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

Hooray for science!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well for sand, you can't really... heat it to make it do anything, unless you're using something a lot hotter then that.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Glass?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's what I meant a LOT hotter then that, because it can be turned into glass... not with a blowtorched metal ball.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sand usually doesn't react with stuff. Usually. http://pipeline.corante.com/archives/2008/02/26/sand_wont_save_you_this_time.php

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TIL: watermelon DGAF.

11 years ago | Likes 1269 Dislikes 1

Watermelon has places to go, things to do

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watermelon don't have time for your 'science'!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watermelons and 'science'... Have you seen Me, Myself and Irene?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watermelon and sand weren't particularly bothered, but honey? Honey is coming to get you!

11 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Honey doesn't like it when I surprise her with my balls

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Non-newtonian fluids DGAF as well...

We just found NASA a cheaper alternative to their tiles.

Saw flower/garden foam the other night. So rad.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yhea duuude

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sand and watermelon altogether. But I'm more impressed by the watermelon

11 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 0

They did this with a hockey puck and there was barely a mark.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The sand performed amazingly well but not all that unexpected. Was really hoping there'd be glass :(

11 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I set off thermite on a beach. Only a few flecks of glass in the lump of remaining iron.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glass requires a few more bonding agents, conductive materials, etc. sand doesn't cool THAT evenly. You can make sandy glass that way

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Watermelon and Kevlar?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Watermelon and water-fuckin-melon! Did you see that shit?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

TIL: Watermelon makes good oven mits.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is because the watermelon is composed of the element of water, unlike for example an earthmelon, and thus impervious to the fire element.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

better than our own flesh D:

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While entertaining I have the suspicion that the guy doing this is shortening his life by vaporizing some of these substances.

11 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 1

Thought the same thing, then realized he isn't wearing gloves either, do I don't think safety is a concern. Must entertain, fuck all else

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Chemist here. Most of what he's vaporizing is pretty non-toxic. I'd worry about the nickel, but hopefully he's wearing PPE! :)

11 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

I dunno, the glue and the styrofoam probably weren't great ideas.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

at the least, it looks like the honey became weaponized napalm

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

The video for the honey is pretty funny actually, because of that.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

yeah wtf happened with the honey.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

(Guys he's asking what happened, not why you're calling it napalm) Honey has a thick consistency so when bubbles of hot air formed and /1

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thannnnnnnk you. That resolves my question.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a superheated sticky substance. If it gets on you, you won't be able to get it off and it'll keep burning you.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Anything super hot and sticky makes a decent substitute for napalm. If it's boiling and jumping to, look out.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

rose, they made particularly large ones that caused the honey to bubble particularly violently. /2
