#1 this is exactly the kind of shit that gives bikers a bad name. Dumbass motherfuckers going blind around curves on the wrong side of the road. And splitting lanes. Fuck ya'll whiny entitled bitches who think lanesplitting is ok. It's always dangerous and stupid and they act surprised when something bad happens. Just because your vehicle is smaller and faster doesn't mean you're magically free from consequences.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

#2 "what happened?" WE DON'T FUCKING KNOW! BECAUSE YOU HAD ONE JOB! ONE FUCKING JOB! To film the thing... and instead you filmed your feet as you took two steps back. YOU WEREN'T EVEN RUNNING!

#10 Do you want incinerated lungs? Cuz that's how you get incinerated lungs.

2 months ago | Likes 196 Dislikes 1

Nah. If this is propane, that is how u get insta-frozen mouth, throat and lungs. Propane in it's liquid state(which is what it is when compressed into one of those) is ULTRA cold, u should wear thick gloves to handle it when filling tanks, and that is just in-case u get a little leak and it sprays on your hand. Happened once to me and when it 'thawed' a day later it was a huge chunk of missing skin (I was lucky, affected area just fell off rather than rotted)

Good way to die as well, friend of mine died huffing gas like that, brain aneurysm or something.

2 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

As the gas expands it also cools down. You could get cold damage to your lungs, throat and mouth.

#2 when I worked in construction, one of my regular jobs was "clear out the warehouse while we do the crane lift" and I regularly had people ignore my instructions. I really needed a video like this to say "when I tell you to get behind the fucking red tape, this is why you do what I tell you!"

That’s not how diamond tile grinders work. I mean, you could but you’d have to really try. The broken tile is way sharper than that blade.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

His mistake was cutting the lines inside the circle, ACROSS the circular cut line, creating a spot for the crack to start and run. You can see the fracture runs at two spots from the straight cuts. It wasn’t by much, but that’s all it takes.

I was way, way, way too many years old before I got the "Chez Quis" joke. Possibly because it never occurred to me to pronounce the "s".

Also, the interior scenes were filmed in a now-defunct restaurant called L'Orangerie. I ate there once and it was very good.

2 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

That one branch shouldn't've been heavy enough to topple that rig.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Hard to tell from that video, but it looks like the operator didn't extend the outriggers fully and has his boom extended all the way at a low angle. I guarantee he had alarms going off in the cab and hit the over-ride.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This. You have to work hard to topple modern cranes. Ignoring or outright disabling alarms is aboslute necessary for shit like this to happen.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Extend the arm fat enough and it most definitely will be heavy enough to topple it.

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Leverage is a cruel master.

2 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yeah - that's what they thought.

Branches are *stunningly heavy*. Wood is heavy. And that one was easily 3 times bigger than anyone sane would have cut at once.

They're damn lucky the crane didn't hit a house or a person coming down like that.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Wet freshly cut wood is so fucken heavy!!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Excellent point! If you're used to fire wood - yeah, that branch is the same plus a chonk of water.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Buckets of water if it’s a wetboi like a willow or some sycamores.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 INCREDIBLY predictable... NEVER cross the yellow lines, not even with any of your body parts. If you can't stay in your lane while cornering, you're riding too fast.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I had that happen on a bicycle when I got caught out by a decreasing-radius turn at the bottom of a high-speed descent on a narrow 2-lane. I had two options. 1) continue in the wrong lane around a blind curve and hope there was no oncoming traffic. 2) ride immediately across onto the opposite gravel berm. I chose 2 and got some lovely road rash but at least didn't kill myself or someone else. Yeah, stupidly too fast.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, you should not, it is illegal, but you can, safely, sometimes. You definitely cannot on blind fucking curves though.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah, but "safely" doesn't mean "smart". If you ride a motorcycle, it's all about patterns and habits. It generally goes too fast for split second decisions. I own and operate a Honda Blackbird, if i some day teach myself a pattern of cornering narrow corners by using the ENTIRE road, EVEN when it's "safe", I'll endanger myself unnecessarily. I won't do it.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Knowing that you run things on autopilot to that degree is not generalizable to everyone. For a very close example - there are passing areas on single lane roads, but it's not always safe to pass. It's not reasonable to say, for that reason, that no-one should ever pass. You should pick situations that don't involve split-second decisions. Not all things are necessarily slippery slopes.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where i live, it's directly illegal to pass on single lane roads with an unbroken center line - EVEN if there's room. It's easy - just don't do it.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep I said that at the start.

I'm a motorcyclist, but yeah I don't get these guys. I just like to be out in the open air and just going around at the same speed as traffic works for me. It's good therapy. These guys, I don't even know what their motivation is other than trying to impress one another.

2 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I always assume it's similar to people who hang glide or do wing suits or base jumping. Just adrenaline junkie thrill seeking and I think in groups they also escalate each other. I wish people could enjoy that kind of risk taking without endangering others or leaving bike parts and oil etc in the ecosystem

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I have no problem with people doing this, if they do it at a track.

People don't realize those truck tires run 90psi on the low side. More likely it was running toward 120psi. Car tires generally explode starting somewhere around 80psi.

That statement is about as American as the stereotype gets. "Purdy shure we're the only ones who use the internets and deport people. Hy-yuk!"

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I think you're misreading the series of events here. I read the comment before me as US-centric, and not only because it mentioned deportation. It was certainly wrong, because this event seems to have occurred only about a week ago, and nobody is IIRCing someone getting eventually deported after an event that occurred a week ago.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hah, my thoughts exactly when reading that 😂

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fucker is lucky to have survived that, to be honest.
What a goddamned moron.

2 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Everybody nearby was lucky, no telling where that knife wound up flying.

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Indeed. But just the tire exploding like that could cause SERIOUS trauma.
What a goddamned moron.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Truck tires are like 100 psi... Nothing to mess with, there's a reason they inflate them in cages. We've had car tires pop because the guy mounting them wasn't careful enough and damaged the bead... 32 psi isn't much, but that's shotgun blast level of noise. One even went off while on the balancer.

2 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

110psi. Pedantic, i know, but its a shit-ton of pressure

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For comparison, a car tire is about one third of that, and a bicycle tire about half.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A colleague of mine once accidentally popped one with a forklift, when he was loading a trailer. Said he was sure everyone at the galvanising plant must've heard it, even though it was facing away from it. Forklift had one pedal for forward, one for backward, and a brake, and he got them mixed up.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That doesn't sound very certified to me!!!

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

To be fair, it was the only forklift there with that pedal set-up, all the other forklifts had a switch for forward/backward, and he was quite stressed at the time. The boss was pushing us to work overtime every day, so he probably wasn't getting enough sleep, since he had over an hour of driving to/from work.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I see bumper stickers all over that say,

“Look twice and save a life.
Motorcycles are everywhere!”

But I think it’s very much a two-way street.
Let’s make a deal. I’ll do my best not to hit you and you don’t ride like a fucking jackass with nothing to lose.

You can’t pin all the responsibility of keeping bikers safe on the car drivers. The bike riders need to take some responsibility for themselves also.

Deal?

2 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

Deal.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's like with driving anything, people can only anticipate you doing things you're supposed to do.

Expecting people to recognize and look for bike shaped things around them instead of just car shaped ones is reasonable, but expecting them to anticipate someone trying to split lanes or pass on a solid yellow at 20 over the speed limit is expecting the wrong person to do the work

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agree 100%.
My comment is buried deep enough it mat not get seen and downvoted, but as a responsible rider, I gotta inform you: there are times and places where lane-splitting is not only legal, but expected.
It should not be done the right way, but drivers should be expecting lane-splitting cycles. Not crazy assholes, but regular responsible riders following the law and being safe.
In California, where I live, it is legal.
Again, safely and responsibly done.
Thanks stranger!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have friends who ride responsibly. They fucking despise people like this.

2 months ago | Likes 135 Dislikes 2

I saw the same cycle vid on another site and commented that you never ever cross the center line in those situations, don’t even dip your shoulder over. I got ripped to heck by a bunch of morons

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Knew a guy that rode with a sizeable crew in NW WA. Some idiot in the pack lifted his front and rode with a wheelie for a minute. Someone else rode up to the front, flagged everyone to pull over. Walked up to the idiot that popped a wheelie and decked him in the face and proceeded to berate him for pulling such a dangerous move in a pack of other motorcycles. One goes down, THEY ALL GO DOWN

2 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

I hope he came back a better rider.

My motorcyclist friends would agree with you, these people are all assholes

2 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Glad we cleared that up. It is extremely annoying when your own people give you a bad rep!

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

#1 no need to stop, this is the normal lifecycle of your standard plastic racer squid. Note the often unseen and colorful plumage (helmet) and the way he unnecessarily leans hard and dips his knee when taking a turn on a normal road that's wide enough and slowly curving enough for cars in order to emulate actual competitive racers, perhaps as a way to intimidate other riders?

Nature eventually takes care of squids like this, though perhaps not as quickly as the tank-top, sandal-wearing variety.

2 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why are they called squids?

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They explode. But blood, instead of an ink cloud.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Because of the gore smear they leave on the road. Also they are using squid somewhat incorrectly, a real 'squid' is a teeshirt-no gloves-maybe helmet-tennis shoes/crocs + any bike. These guys are fully geared but that ciff full of sharp boulders won't care much.

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Because of the wile-e-coyote-like-shape they make in the wall when they crash, all splayed out like you threw a squid at a wall.

In general, squids are any unsafe motorcycle drivers, though especially the ones who zip through traffic on cheap plastic racing bikes, often wearing no protective gear to prove how dumb they are, the stereotype is wearing shorts, tank tops, open-toed sandals and 80's-style mirrored sunglasses that make them look like a douchebag.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Dry hair is for squids

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like a douchebag?

You're being too kind.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Now a days, you'll find them wearing more helmets than normal because they need something to attach their go-pros to and the dash mounted ones just show the sky when they ride wheelies, but at it's heart, it's just reckless motorcycle drivers trying to go fast and/or do stunts.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
