Trying to say that it's ok if we work different hours than aren't all linear (ignoring that most of us are tied to clients who expect us to be available during business hours). He unironically shared this shitty image that shows only one option where the LEAST work you can do is 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the others are "fit little bits of life in around work"

Even without the problem of a non-compete in your industry, most of the 2nd job options I looked at were still 1st shift so I couldn’t do that and my day job. For all my former colleagues who were quiet quitting they weren’t taking backup jobs. Burnout has got to be high, assuming you have no family or personal life outside of sleeping.

Was a company in the UK, there was only 2 employees this would affect, myself and my assistant... He was very annoyed when I told him he could drop dead if he tried it.

Yeah, I'm a consultant and in theory I have a "brand" but truthfully I just have other people who say, "you're doing this, this is the person you use." Folks fixating on their brand seems like a red flag that they don't provide value in what they actually do. I'll add that I might be working on multiple projects is not viewed as a positive trait by my clients..

No, that should 12-16 hours a week. 40 hours a week is somebody working their life away, and ends up with very little time to sort out their own personal issues after basic human maintenance that is needed during the week. 2/7 days are reserved specifically because A) working shouldn't be mandatory B) people need time to relax & de-stress or else they go crazy. Because "full time" is a literal term for the maximum working hours a human can tolerate long term without infringing on human rights.

My dad had a good government job earning about 50% over the median US income. We lived modestly. Mom never worked, on long term disability. He owned a home, supported his wife, and put 2 kids thru state school (with some help from scholarships) all on the 80's equivalent of about $75k/year in today's money.

No. If you work 40 hours a week at a modest job with an average income you should be able to support a family in a family home and take at least one international holiday a year, with the whole family; as well as own a pet and two cars. Healthcare should be free at the point of service.
