If his conviction is overturned on appeal, the legal term for that is vacated. It means the conviction is undone, because the original judgement was found to be in error.

As a Norwegian living in the UK I was so relieved that Biden won. Finally an adult back in the house and the threat of nuclear world war 3 lessened again. In France (and probably any other European country) he couldn't have remained free for that long, he would have been in jail on January 7th at the latest. Anyway, he wouldn't have been elected because his porn star adventures and collusion with Russia would have leaked during the campaign. Then again, we've never elected a TV star with no qualification. And we have direct voting, no electoral college. So yeah, let's just say what's happening in the US is very peculiar to us.

There were also some really weird pro-Trump demonstrations in a LOT of places, the Japanese ones made the biggest news i think. There were probably 10 times more anti-Trump demonstrations world wide though...

I'm afraid i have NO idea what the hell prompted those. We had a couple of smaller ones in Sweden but the ones shown from Japan were pretty large and wide spread. It's weird because at which other point in history have there been demonstrations in SUPPORT of a newly elected leader in a foreign country?
