I was raised to question everything, and to question it twice as hard if I want to agree with it, especially if people around me tell me I should agree without all the details. This sometimes comes off as argumentative and difficult, but it’s really to consider all the possibilities, perspectives, and facts to understand things. Yeah, I am still occasioanlly wrong, but this “question everything” skill is also why I’ve been good at what I do. I’ve been an auto mechanic to working in NASCAR pit crews, restored classic cars and built engines, been a certified forklift driver, and today work in IT working on both hardware and software. And yes, I still do all my own work on my cars, including modifying software and parts upgrades to make it work and feel the way I want it to be. I wish more people questioned what they are and hear lately before jumping on certain things. Anyway… I come from a history of unsung heroes. Those people where you don’t know their names but you use things they came up with or changed to make your life easier in some way. It could be big, it could be small, and it could be a tool or device in your house with a feature you didn’t know was there, or a subtle but helpful feature added to something that’s been around for ages. It could be physical pr code, but the things we have done are out there and you’ve probably seen or used some of them.
