Wearing proper prescription glasses would also help his disguise. I've known many people who wore glasses and had to move them on and off their field of vision depending on what they were trying to look at. Him having to adjust the glasses to glance at things would only help the disguise. He could move them out of the way to see clearly, but to anyone else it would just look like he was compensating for being near or far sighted.

Never did like the "Clark Kent is an act" angle. To me it too easily leads to the Kill Bill analysis of "Clark is what Superman thinks of humanity." Superman is supposed to be a Super Man. Humanity. He's humble and kind and soft spoken because when we are kind and help others, we are at our best. Superman is strong and confident, because when we are sure of ourselves we can be at our best. One isn't an act and the other real. Clark simply knows when you need what. He shows the best of Humanity.

I mean, he -is- Kal El, more than anything else, that much is true, despite what Dean Cain said. What's not true is the ideas from which Clark Kent sprang forth. In some versions, Clark is an organic extension of Superman. In others, like above, he's a persona designed to avoid attention. In those, it'd be accurate to say that Clark represents "that which Humans don't notice", but that's hardly a critique on our species.

I showed that scene to a friend and she immediately compared it to the type of acting needed for the lead role in productions of the "Jekyll & Hyde" musical; to switch drastically between personas. I thought that was apt, since Mr. Reeve studied at Julliard.

Christopher Reeve will always be my foremost Superman. His performance was perfect. Brandon Routh is the closest to have ever gotten to that perfection since and I was disappointed when he didn't appear in the role in later movies.
