What's the joke?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The intended joke is that even a blind person thinks he's too ugly to date.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The blind person would rather be reading books than dating him.

You could interpret it both according to superiority theory and according to incongruity theory, arguably even relief theory. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theories_of_humor First of all she is making a value judgement about his looks. This establishes her superiority. Then she doubles down by insulting his intellect. That aside, her behavior is incongruent with what we would expect from a normal encounter at the same time as it underlines perfectly normal behaviour if we assume that she...

blind. Finally, some part of the intended audience may be struggling with dating, identifying themselves with difficulties of finding a date or how to politely reject someone.

I stopped liking him somewhere in my early/mid-teens. Not saying it's directly related, just that I haven't cared about him in...decades?!!

Used to listen to his show once in awhile years ago, but one day someone on the staff made a mistake mid-show, he spent the next half hour chewing them out on the air. It was embarrassing for the employee and pathetic for him. I've had too many bosses like that and haven't listened since.

He can be funny but I think he crosses the line and acts like an asshole too often. I think about when Freddie Prinze Jr was on his show and all he did was tell him his relationship was going to fail and go nowhere and he shouldn't bother. Idk just seems like a really rude thing to do. What do you get out of it?
