I know it’s difficult, time consuming, and full of uncertainties, but I’d much rather DC, Marvel, etc. take the time & effort to create new heroes for the underrepresented. I think race/gender swaps are terrible. First, people don't like when others change things they like, so its automatically generates pushback from fans who don't mind diversity. Second, as the main point is the gender/race which turns into a main theme which isn't what post people want from a superhero comic/movie. Last, it's just lazy and uninspiring....

I don't even see it as a race/gender change. Natasha Irons is a black lesbian in the super family who has been around for 30 years and a superhero for 20. She briefly had standard superman powers but mostly uses a suit of armor similar to Iron Man.
