I asked my photographer friend how he takes shots like these. He said the art lies in seeing the potential picture rather than what is just there. He told me about what he sees at spots like this, how pictures are formed in his mind. He couldn't explain further. I don't have the gift.
There's a lot of thought and practice to make posing like that look easy. My wife loved Top Model so of course I watched a ton of it and I was impressed by the skill they had to develop.
There was a post on here maybe six months or five years ago. It was an Asian photographer shooting a singular Asian model. He would show her what he wanted her to do then she'd do it and we'd see the picture. Exactly the same as this.
