€25 unlimited data including tethering. Download 200+gbs a month never get throttled
ThePirateCatsRule
Unlimited 4G is the shit.... £20 a month. Fuck yeah.
realnoise
NorthCrown
I have 5 gb for about 20 euros a month, and 500/500 fiber at home for arpund 45 euros.
Strasburg6592
Nowadays certain big name carriers have "UNLIMITED" data but they throttle you once you get past a certain point. Cricket, for instance...
Kitlia
Verizon did the same for their grandfathered unlimited data plan. And AT&T
"Unlimited".
slyvic
I used to have unlimited data from ATT back like 5 years ago. Fuckers tricked me out of it. But tbh I barely ever go over the data limit.
whitevfute
waiting for neighbors to turn their wifi on

I'll go DAYS without WiFi my dude....DAYS... /a/P0swb
NovaxScotia
on the tag it says your, not you're
GothKirby
I have 10gb of data, but don't really leave the house often enough to use even half of it.
PandaMike83
It's an odd world when I have unlimited mobile data but now a data cap on my home internet service....
stabbedintheface
Work pays for my unlimited. #dollabillsyall
gerf
Ditto. Plus I have unlimited on my personal phone. Unlimited X2
PaulSmackageFromGrapevineTexas
$20 for 3 lines unlimited, cell phone company pays the rest. Plus free phones. It's good to work for a cell company

SGSchlaghund
the old plans back in 85-87 gave unlimited for like $30cnd month
babattaja
shame, in Finland we have unlimited 4g with calls, texts and multimedia messages 18€/m
osilvers
Same speeds as 4G LTE in America??
Thiefers
Around 50 Mbps and if you pay ~10€ more you'll get 100 Mbps
50mbs indeed in finland, but i suppose the "normal" price here is 24€/m
currently 17€/m for unlimited everything with 100mb 4g LTE internet.
JHawke
Damn that is cheap. Still wouldn't be willing to do that though. 10 of each would be practically unlimmited... a year.
Nerple
My unlimited's about to run out?
getotterhere
I only pay $40 for unlimited
ImgurVet
In ireland 20e with 3 network Will get you unlimited internet. For once ireland doesnt seem a rip off!

4GB of data but 50GB of wifi. Welcome to rural Canada
DamnnSon
I find it more weird that the Dollar sign is now changed into 1 vertical stripe like this $. Damn you mandela effect...
StringVariable
I see double stripes everywhere here on this page.
they will slowly dissapear. $ is allready the number 1.
pandro
Sometimes saw it as U superimposed over S, to mean "US dollars." I might have imagined it.
rosalynne95
No, you're right. That was the original form.
LurkerOfDarkness
No, it's from spanish and its a P and an S.
Nigbac
The single vertical stripe traditionally used to represent Canadian dollars, to distinguish from US. I don't know why the US adopted it too.

I'm on an ancient Verizon unlimited plan. As long as I'm getting decent speeds I don't turn on wifi.
MakeTabbouleNotWar
Omg I had that plan and then I wanted the brand new iPhone 5 that had come out and lost it. I wanted to diiiiieeeee
HighImpactSexualViolence
LOL sucker.
TalosGuideUs
I had the original unlimited data plan for the last 8 years. Switched when they had that 5 for 45 promotion. About 50$ cheaper
Zomboozles
On that og unlimited plan, being able to use that data had its own special charge of $50
Yeah, it was nice never got throttled
BeenWithYouForAWhile
Meanwhile here. In canada. I pay 49$ for 6Gb
DontTazeMeBrah
I used almost 400 GB one month, I will miss u ;(
Istealfromthefrontpage
How much fucking porn did u dl????
acmeyakko
I have that too. I was doing the Best Buy online trick to get phones until this last phone. I bought the phone rather than give up my plan.
I've had to just buy the phones outright too. I've had my current note 3 for a few years now and I'm thinking about getting a new phone soon
There was a trick where you got your phone from Best Buy online and swapped the sim before you started it up, it would work. They fixed it.
I used that to get a couple of phones but they closed that loophole about 3 years ago. I finally bought my first phone a couple months ago.
whatupg12
It sounds like getting throttled is a fate worse
punchlineguy
It is ):
ButtMagnet
People get their data throttled? Is this 2010?
GTXM
No throttling here. Highest I've hit in a month is around 120GB and still maintained over 20mbps speed (which is average around here).
ItAintGayIfItsAFemininePenis
Yep, you're only throttled when there's a lot of limited data user traffic in your area who they give priority to.
lronMaiden
Used close to 350gb last month. No throttling at all.
FromDenmarkWithHate
I have a cap of 2 tb on my wired internet.
TheLimpinBiscuit
I like how every reply on this thread automatically assumes everyone uses Verizon.
TheBurmecianGuy
Data rollover. Never use up my data. Spotify doesn't drain data either. (Perk I got) essentially get unlimited data.
TerranceFortesqueSmythe
Even unthrottled, the limit is literally what bandwidth you can get.
mistermixelpix
On T-Mo you have to be in the top 3% to get throttled. I've burned through 40+ GB in a month and not had an issue.
IndefinetelyTired
Lmao 52ish gigs this month, barely noticed a thing
snowman520182
After two weeks in the billing cycle, I get throttled so badly, I can only use the web on my phone after midnight.
DiscGolfJunkie
I only call people after 7pm and on weekends so the minutes are free.
Man, does that take me back
cobaltseeker
I'm... I'm still on a plan where this is relevant... But hey unlimited data and no throttling so I got that going for me
Bigdaddyclean
You old fucker
jesting
Some of us have been grandfathered in with the OG Unlimited Data. Zero Throttling, and they're always trying to get us to change plans.
rbrewls
Me and my wife have been grandfathered in for awhile now. We’ve never had to worry about using too much data. It’s really nice.
cheeseguy3412
I had to get rid of Unlimited data after AT&T throttled illegally, couldn't use my phone's data for 2 years, gave up.
zentradipriminister
I swear they throttled the sh.. outta me just before 4g became a big thing. My phone was useless. Call me crazy but....
selloutrock
Never back down, never surrender! Vivá le resistàncé!
VZW is SO trying to find a way to make you guys switch from that. You're like a unicorn~
DPCerberusBlaze
My friend works at vzw and when she had to upgrade people on unlimited, she was careful because she could accidentally lose them their plan.
AlexisActually
yeah I remember when 4G was just coming out, it was a real PITA to upgrade because you had to put in a ticket for every upgraded line...
or they'd lose the unlimited forever. Bunch of bags of buckets of cocks.
Now, if you switch to any other plan (which they want you to do) from that old unltd one, I'm not positive you could go back at all.
The way I was trained: "Submit a ticket for an inactive plan feature, make sure to type a lot about why the cust. wants/deserves it back (1)
and maaaaaybe the people handling the ticket will see fit to give it back, if they even can." (2)
From what I've heard, you can't go back at all that's why it's so stressful for my friend
TyberosTheRedWake
I had that and then Verizon fucked me over by telling me I was no longer eligible for phone upgrades as long as I had the unlimited data.
samsonguy920
Oh, Verizon. They were all ready to cut Montana rural customers off because of roaming data, but congresspeople stepped in and chewed em out
...as in completely end their mobile service and leave them to go fish. A lot of smaller services stepped in and got a lot of folks set up,>
> so even though Verizon backtracked on their little plan, they are down a few customers now.
BreatheNostalgia
I worked at a Verizon store when this happened. Getting yelled at by every customer as if it was my fault was a large reason I rage quit
As someone who is about to tell Verizon to eat my ass tomorrow, have a piece of pie for me.
Try getting a phone thru eBay~ VZ will hit you with a terrible new plan AND a $30 "upgrade" fee
It was nice, but not worth paying $700 for a new phone
CometLaHal
??? if its a good phone it'll last 3-4 years minimum. seems worth
Ummm... Ebay?
EricReaume
i just take all of my relatives old phones, honestly not much of a difference between an iphone 5 and 6 or 7 besides screen size : /
RemcoW
And speed. I’m using an iPhone 5 and 7 and the 7 is so much faster. Then again, I didn’t feel like it was slow when I had just the 5
ThirstyCalifornian
You do realized that paying for a subsidized phone via a carrier actually costs MORE then the retail price of the phone?
For the record, I've had my Unlimited Data Plan / Rate since my Blackberry Pearl was the hot new phone. So there's that for ya too.
dauntlessds
TMobile and Blackberry Curve but yeah, exactly the same thing. I have better signal with my phone rather than WiFi.
ireplysometimes
I miss my Blackberry Pearl so much
iLynux
I don't.
Seconded.

kedtheduck
As an American prepaid, I pay 40$ for 2 gb and unlimited talk and text but can get unlimited data, talk and text between 50$-60$ a month
katerinaadriah
I looked at those plans where I am in the US. All of them throttled data after like 15-20gigs if you looked at the fine print on "unlimited"
Yeah, lucky I only use less than 2gb per month bc when you get throttled it's not worth trying.
I do too generally, but I was looking at the plan for using my phone as a hotspot on out of state trips to visit family. Oh well.
davidmcginley
Ireland. Unlimited calls, text, data, hotspot and EU roaming for €29.99/m
Oh and it's 4G too!
Lifeangel
Lucked out and got a 30 gig plan when at&t had a deal that they would double the gigs for free. So I have 60 gigs but pay for 30.
shorey66

Umcookies
How recent is that? They ran a promo like a week ago for $50/mth at 20gb with unlimited calls.
Preorder for the note 8.
shak
You must be on a very old plan. I dont think any carriers offer such small allowances anymore
shadow914
As someone from the US, I was one of the last people to get unlimited everything from Sprint. This doesn't help, but it gives an explanation
digby8787
Australian here. 40$ on Telstra plan is 10gig
LuSiDity
My company pays for my phone through Verizon. I have hit data of 110gb/month because I listen to YouTube all day while I work.

also included: all calls & sms's in any EU or ETA - country & the baltic states (tho that's mandated by eu..)
Wacked
Note is cheaper to be in EU and call than to call to EU from home.
toent
Does it include texts and calls?
unlimited all - texts, calls, data.
Damn that’s good!
SomeoneTookMyUsernameToo
I pay less than that, but that's without 4G.
3,99€/month for car phone/backup connection. includes 256kbps data.
CirB
My current account is 21€/month for unlimited 4G data in Finland + free roaming in Scandinavia & Baltia.
VanhornsReckoning
Dont we have free roaming in the whole EU?
Not really. Most operators use some kind of data caps for free data, and after the cap is reached, bill you extra for data used.
Oh jeebus! Good thing i cannot afford to travel outside Sweden then
Nwardi
"It's the miracle of Elisa-Saunalahti prices!"

You have free Saunas everywhere, here we have to pay 30€ for 2h...
zeshoopuf
There are no free saunas. You have to pay.
Ain't different if you don't have an in-apartment sauna in a block of flats. A pre-scheduled time once a week costs about the same, depends
Numnex
Been a customer to DNA for years, 19.95€/m 50mbit unlimited everything, they ain't joking either

We may not have the best coverage map, but that sweet sweet unlimited data makes up for it.
Oh does it ever
BeendrinkingComebacklater
2020 will be the best
amoeba15
You guys should massively revolt over this. It's the 21st century and your internet speed, cost, and data caps are stuck in the 90s.
Go find who's responsible and stick them in a room with a pissed off kangaroo on roids.
GodEmperorGummy
We can't deal with the Net right now. We got Kim wanting to kill us, SA having trouble keeping the power on and we're running out of nat gas
Plus, our pollies are fucking hopeless. On both sides.
promethbastard
Hah yeah good luck with that. The masses don't understand internets.
fitlex
Not really, you can get a 100/40 home internet plans in most places, and there are plenty of decent mobile plans that come with bonus data
1Gbps now around here. (Google Fiber)
Though things would be a lot better if we didn't let them fuck us out of full fibre. And then vote the guy who did it in as prime minister..
My parents house which is 15 minutes from a major town can't even get ADSL. It's satellite or nothing. Which is 12/1 and like $80 month.
YharnamsFinest
You can’t get 100/40 in most places are you on crack? Most homes are fttn
Bugleisthebomb
Yup, brand new house in brand new suburb close to the city, no nbn
Yeah and any money when you DO get it, fttn or at best fttc
CelticCenturion
€20 in Ireland for unlimited data
panthera94
in switzerland i pay 60 CHF for unlimited data including unlimited phone calls and sms (no one uses sms anymore but still...)
yoshiien
In the USA, Verizon charges about 180$ for 3 loves with only 4 gb. There are other companies that have unlimited for less, but less coverage
AStegosaurus
The better coverage only matters if you frequently drive through rural New Mexico. If you are in a city, T-Mobile is faster.
I live in Philadelphia and surprisingly my friends all lose coverage in different sections of Philadelphia and I'm the one who hasn't
JustAGuyy
When did you get that plan? 2010? I have 5 lines “unlimited” for $200 a month on Verizon. So much better than their old plans.
My mom decided to randomly get a new iPhone so it's part of the bill to pay for it
Sciencefriction13
I have unlimited Verizon for $99/mo. One line.
When I talked to them about a place. They wanted $108 for just me with 4gb data, *before* the cost of the new phone I had to get 1/2
*also that should say plan, not place
To get the "deal" that brought it down from like $130/month. Adding my husband would have made it $175. We went with Google Fi instead.
ninty9notout
With 3 in UK I pay £22 a month for unlimited data. My past two years have been averaging 30Gb/month.
Almgandhi
Switzerland, 80 Bucks per Month, 4G+

swissguy37
The biggest provider here in Switzerland offers almost on every contract unlimited data, but they limit the speed accordingly.
Jaitch
UK here. £20 unlimited calls text and data. Also covers lots of countries not just Europe
PudgyPinkiePie
TIL Europe is a country
Aha. I meant countries outside the European zone. It's not just the euro roaming charges dealio thingy
TheMightyCock
In Vietnam the so called Unlimited data plan is only $3 but it's throttled after 3-4gb or something so it's not that great
Abbysomeoneabbynormal

Short term offer and only have 6 months left, then it goes up to 15 for it
Curii
Three? Because I'm on £18.
yeah I got the sim only deal about 4 years ago
Got mine about 18 months back, which is likely why it was a bit more.
Aye probably I first got the SIM with the iPhone 5 now it's in my s7 edge
otakon17
Yeah, unlimited is bullshit in the states. They throttle your speed and slow you down when you hit a certain data cap. Unlimited my ass.
UncleB0b
Australian here, $35 a month for 10.5GB. Change your provider, yo.
wyatt8740
My dad's grandfathered into AT&T's old unlimited plan from the late 2000's
DrFolk
Me too, they just tried to quote me on the new unlimited plans and it would have been 10 bucks more a month.
hungitalianohwaitthisisntgrindr

Head6
Romania here. 6$ 20 Gb.
Lilpootpoot
Sprint, I pay $230 for 5 lines unlimited everything and monthly phone payments included.
TK421isAFK
Yeah, but after 10GB or so your connection is throttled down so low you might as well not even have broadband.
Mine does not get throttled, never has. I had 60gb before they upgraded me to unlimited.
They "upgraded" you (for free, no doubt) so they could make you change contracts. Read it. All new Sprint (and other carrier) contracts 1/2
have bandwidth throttling written into them. It's how they get away with adding new phone lines without upgrading their infrastructure. 2/2
HaveYouSeenJeff
You gonna need to switch p soon bruh.
Why? I'm a gal, bruh.
Sprint has been kinda on a razors edge for a while now unless I'm mistaken. I think they'll be bought out pretty soon. So you prolly won't
Sprint and T-Mobile are merging.
2/2 have to "switch" but it'll just probably start saying something else on your bills. Anybody remember "Cingular Wireless"?
LastArcanum
Switch to aldi. $35 for 6 gigs
Khatvogel
Is this why texting still excists?
bazzoire
I pay €20 a month for "unlimited"(It's actually ONLY like 2.3 terabytes...)
coldeffect7
In Saudi Arabia you can pay 40$ a month for unlimited data, 107$ a month for 3 sim cards with unlimited data and unlimited phone calls
phyrdawoosh
wow...thats expensive for 4gb...damnnn
SauteThoseOnionsYouSickBastard
In France you pay 15€ for 50gig usable in 35 countries in the world (not only Europe) without roaming fees.
AKAweirdo
goddamnit! belgium here! And for 15€ I just have 1.5gig T.T
LordCastellanCreedtheSupremeCommanderofCadia
The EU abolished roaming fees, that's why carriers are suddenly advertising free roaming, as if they didn't fight tooth and nail against it.
therewk
But you have shitty coverage almost everywhere. That's why I switched from FreeMobile to Sosh.
DESS3FOIS
50gig ??? It’s unlimited now...
MarkOfTheCovenant
angmar26
Same here, 14$ USD for unlimited LTE+ (90-140Mbps). Only turn on WiFi for sharing.
sbyrnes
How would someone not living in France acquire this plan so they can reap the benefits while still in their own country?
TheShadowsLengthen
I think you need a french landline to access it though...
boolke
I pay $50 on Telstra for 12gb, what fuckery are you on?
batttyroy
Don't ask "How much is data?". They tell you the price per gb. Ask "How much is unlimited data?"
ElioNope
Lol, I pay £9/mo for 4gb.
Avetard
Pilipinas - About 6usd for 3gb at -usually- 4G speeds, it's enough for a month for me.
I pay $40 a month for 12gb, rollover, and data gifting is a thing I can do too. Australia here.
AzothTheGuildRat
Try Canada. Most plans with 4gb of data cost around $100
WraithShutterworks
Telus prepaid plan: Unlimited text (whatever), 150 mins, 250 MB. $37/mo.
Hurro
I'm sitting around 140/mo for free Canada wide calling unlimited (national) texting and usual shit. $85 of it is for 10gb. Damn Imgur....
Holy shit, that's horrendous.....and we Americans think you Canadians have it made :-/
WhistlePigger
I pay $60 for unlimited data, but I'm in Manitoba. I hear most of Canada outside the prairies has terrible prices.
SkeletonsNeedLoveToo
Im in the prairies and its still 90 bucks for 10 gb. its trash everywhere, bud.
ThatMicrosoftPaintGuy
Where's that graph of Data amount vs Price for 25 countries.
Skynet2xx
I got 6 gb for 30 from fido like 9 yrs ago, won't switch my plan cause can never get that today
imAUser
I still have this plan. The last phone i was eligible to get any money off was my galaxy S4
Vyreon
I'm paying just under 60 for 3 GB on Telus. Would be paying waaaay more if I wasn't getting a military discount. Our phone plans are shit :(
DrYoloMcSwagmasterIIIEsq
Wait, they give a military discount? I wish I knew that when I was still in
You might be able to get the discount if you have your CF One card!
I should probably get around to getting my CF One card, thanks.
jimmythejedi
Rogers Share Everything between my wife and I, 6GB: $180/month. But we do get NHL GameCentre Live for free, so that's something?
Share 6 gigs?
Yup.
Jeez.... what happens when u watch 1 game on ur data?
nekano
I think I have the worst, 55$ for 1Gb (recently upgraded from 500mb) and unlimited texts/minutes. That’s about it.
Thats pretty much average in Canada
Wow....$60 usd for my 32gb unlimited plan. I get tethered after that, no extra charge
Canada is the shithole of cellular plans.
Spamamdorf
My cell plan is fine, 40$ a month for 2 gigs at 4G and unlimited at a slower rate past that, forget exactly how slow though
NaughtButOne
But it's fine because it's not a monopoly :^)
zergzapper
Atleast the internet here isn't as stupidly priced as straya or the states
Our internet is nothing to be proud of, either.
RogueEwok
I still have my unlimited plan from 2013 for $65
Peregrine2976
$55 a month and 8GB a month here. But I’m on Wind Mobile so really I’d be better off with no phone at all.
JayceFromStateFarm
I used to be with Wind but the second I got out of a 5km radius of my city I was on roaming no matter what direction I went
lol, i remember when dcs-phones came in to market - going farther than 3km's home, i'd lose connection (this was in 1997, i think.)
ShutTheFuCupcakes
Wind now has roaming plan, I get a 1gb and unlimited everything else when outside the city on top of my regular 8 gigs inside the city
WhyShouldILoveYou
Wow, Canada isn't perfect?
Rogers isnt sorry either
RedIronCrown
The population density here is quite low, which makes cellular infrastructure and thus pricing quite expensive.
Population density is pretty low in Finland too, from 17 people / sq.km to 2 people / sq.km in the north.
Low but not Canada low. Canada has 6x Finlands population but 30x its area.
GingerLaird
In the US certain ones say "unlimited" when they mean, "we'll let you use Xgb at full-speed, then throttle you for anything extra."
Every carrier does that in the US. They only throttle you if both A: you hit the limit and B: Bandwidth is limited. Limit on TMo is 50GB.
JakeRockwell
Not when the original plans came out. AT&T added underwriting to the old contracts stipulating throttled usage well after... was a lawsuit..
Every currently available "unlimited" plan does it. There are definitely some old ones which do not.
Not with my carrier... sad times. I'm on the first unlimited data plan with AT&T and I get dicked hard every month. Damn pornography.
You're mixing up bandwidth and transfer.
No I'm not. "Bandwidth is limited" = The cell tower is congested. "You hit the limit" = Your data limit before throttling happens.
That wouldn't be legal in Australia, our home internet plans are say 500GB/m then they throttle. If it says unlimited, they can't throttle
Though if you start pulling down dozens of terabytes per month they will fuck you on a fair use policy or whatever
American Advertising will use words like "Free" And "Unlimited" to grab your attention, then reveal more information as you investigate. 1/2
If they didn't show the real information on the 'package' it'd be false advertising, which is illegal. 2/2
Birkew
In Denmark we had a few years where ISP's said "Up to xx mbit".Thank god they're not allowed to do that anymore, now its a guaranteed speed
diehardlance
Eww home internet with data caps? Gross
That is what they want to do in the US, but Congress has yet to clear it.
I know it sucks, Comcast is doing it a few places. Why do they want the go backwards? Phones even have unlimited data
mnorthwood13
Thanks Tmo
Cheomesh
I don't think I've ever bothered using data on my phone.
llSquarell
€25 unlimited data including tethering. Download 200+gbs a month never get throttled

And AT&T
Cheomesh
"Unlimited".
slyvic
I used to have unlimited data from ATT back like 5 years ago. Fuckers tricked me out of it. But tbh I barely ever go over the data limit.

Work pays for my unlimited. #dollabillsyall

Ditto. Plus I have unlimited on my personal phone. Unlimited X2

the old plans back in 85-87 gave unlimited for like $30cnd month
babattaja
shame, in Finland we have unlimited 4g with calls, texts and multimedia messages 18€/m
osilvers
Same speeds as 4G LTE in America??
Thiefers
Around 50 Mbps and if you pay ~10€ more you'll get 100 Mbps
babattaja
50mbs indeed in finland, but i suppose the "normal" price here is 24€/m
babattaja
currently 17€/m for unlimited everything with 100mb 4g LTE internet.
JHawke
Damn that is cheap. Still wouldn't be willing to do that though. 10 of each would be practically unlimmited... a year.
Nerple
My unlimited's about to run out?
getotterhere
I only pay $40 for unlimited

4GB of data but 50GB of wifi. Welcome to rural Canada
DamnnSon
I find it more weird that the Dollar sign is now changed into 1 vertical stripe like this $. Damn you mandela effect...
StringVariable
I see double stripes everywhere here on this page.
DamnnSon
they will slowly dissapear.

TalosGuideUs
I had the original unlimited data plan for the last 8 years. Switched when they had that 5 for 45 promotion. About 50$ cheaper
Zomboozles
On that og unlimited plan, being able to use that data had its own special charge of $50
TalosGuideUs
Yeah, it was nice never got throttled
BeenWithYouForAWhile

DontTazeMeBrah
I used almost 400 GB one month, I will miss u ;(
Istealfromthefrontpage
How much fucking porn did u dl????
acmeyakko
I have that too. I was doing the Best Buy online trick to get phones until this last phone. I bought the phone rather than give up my plan.
imgurmage
I've had to just buy the phones outright too. I've had my current note 3 for a few years now and I'm thinking about getting a new phone soon
acmeyakko
There was a trick where you got your phone from Best Buy online and swapped the sim before you started it up, it would work. They fixed it.
acmeyakko
I only call people after 7pm and on weekends so the minutes are free.
snowman520182
Zomboozles
VZW is SO trying to find a way to make you guys switch from that. You're like a unicorn~
DPCerberusBlaze
My friend works at vzw and when she had to upgrade people on unlimited, she was careful because she could accidentally lose them their plan.
AlexisActually
yeah I remember when 4G was just coming out, it was a real PITA to upgrade because you had to put in a ticket for every upgraded line...
AlexisActually
or they'd lose the unlimited forever. Bunch of bags of buckets of cocks.
Zomboozles
Now, if you switch to any other plan (which they want you to do) from that old unltd one, I'm not positive you could go back at all.
Zomboozles
The way I was trained: "Submit a ticket for an inactive plan feature, make sure to type a lot about why the cust. wants/deserves it back (1)
Zomboozles
and maaaaaybe the people handling the ticket will see fit to give it back, if they even can." (2)
DPCerberusBlaze
From what I've heard, you can't go back at all that's why it's so stressful for my friend
TyberosTheRedWake
I had that and then Verizon fucked me over by telling me I was no longer eligible for phone upgrades as long as I had the unlimited data.
samsonguy920
Oh, Verizon. They were all ready to cut Montana rural customers off because of roaming data, but congresspeople stepped in and chewed em out
samsonguy920
...as in completely end their mobile service and leave them to go fish. A lot of smaller services stepped in and got a lot of folks set up,>
samsonguy920
> so even though Verizon backtracked on their little plan, they are down a few customers now.
BreatheNostalgia
I worked at a Verizon store when this happened. Getting yelled at by every customer as if it was my fault was a large reason I rage quit
samsonguy920
As someone who is about to tell Verizon to eat my ass tomorrow, have a piece of pie for me.
Zomboozles
Try getting a phone thru eBay~ VZ will hit you with a terrible new plan AND a $30 "upgrade" fee
TyberosTheRedWake
It was nice, but not worth paying $700 for a new phone
CometLaHal
??? if its a good phone it'll last 3-4 years minimum. seems worth
TyberosTheRedWake
DiscGolfJunkie
Ummm... Ebay?
EricReaume
i just take all of my relatives old phones, honestly not much of a difference between an iphone 5 and 6 or 7 besides screen size : /
RemcoW
And speed. I’m using an iPhone 5 and 7 and the 7 is so much faster. Then again, I didn’t feel like it was slow when I had just the 5
ThirstyCalifornian
You do realized that paying for a subsidized phone via a carrier actually costs MORE then the retail price of the phone?
jesting
For the record, I've had my Unlimited Data Plan / Rate since my Blackberry Pearl was the hot new phone. So there's that for ya too.
dauntlessds
TMobile and Blackberry Curve but yeah, exactly the same thing. I have better signal with my phone rather than WiFi.

katerinaadriah
I looked at those plans where I am in the US. All of them throttled data after like 15-20gigs if you looked at the fine print on "unlimited"
kedtheduck
Yeah, lucky I only use less than 2gb per month bc when you get throttled it's not worth trying.
katerinaadriah
I do too generally, but I was looking at the plan for using my phone as a hotspot on out of state trips to visit family. Oh well.
davidmcginley
Ireland. Unlimited calls, text, data, hotspot and EU roaming for €29.99/m

You guys should massively revolt over this. It's the 21st century and your internet speed, cost, and data caps are stuck in the 90s.
amoeba15
Go find who's responsible and stick them in a room with a pissed off kangaroo on roids.
GodEmperorGummy
We can't deal with the Net right now. We got Kim wanting to kill us, SA having trouble keeping the power on and we're running out of nat gas
GodEmperorGummy
Plus, our pollies are fucking hopeless. On both sides.
promethbastard
Hah yeah good luck with that. The masses don't understand internets.
fitlex
Not really, you can get a 100/40 home internet plans in most places, and there are plenty of decent mobile plans that come with bonus data
amoeba15
1Gbps now around here. (Google Fiber)
fitlex
Though things would be a lot better if we didn't let them fuck us out of full fibre. And then vote the guy who did it in as prime minister..
Arrrrgggggghhhh
My parents house which is 15 minutes from a major town can't even get ADSL. It's satellite or nothing. Which is 12/1 and like $80 month.
YharnamsFinest
You can’t get 100/40 in most places are you on crack? Most homes are fttn
Bugleisthebomb
Yup, brand new house in brand new suburb close to the city, no nbn
YharnamsFinest
Yeah and any money when you DO get it, fttn or at best fttc
CelticCenturion
€20 in Ireland for unlimited data
panthera94
in switzerland i pay 60 CHF for unlimited data including unlimited phone calls and sms (no one uses sms anymore but still...)
yoshiien
In the USA, Verizon charges about 180$ for 3 loves with only 4 gb. There are other companies that have unlimited for less, but less coverage
AStegosaurus
The better coverage only matters if you frequently drive through rural New Mexico. If you are in a city, T-Mobile is faster.
yoshiien
I live in Philadelphia and surprisingly my friends all lose coverage in different sections of Philadelphia and I'm the one who hasn't
JustAGuyy
When did you get that plan? 2010? I have 5 lines “unlimited” for $200 a month on Verizon. So much better than their old plans.
yoshiien
My mom decided to randomly get a new iPhone so it's part of the bill to pay for it
Sciencefriction13
I have unlimited Verizon for $99/mo. One line.
katerinaadriah
When I talked to them about a place. They wanted $108 for just me with 4gb data, *before* the cost of the new phone I had to get 1/2
katerinaadriah
*also that should say plan, not place
katerinaadriah
To get the "deal" that brought it down from like $130/month. Adding my husband would have made it $175. We went with Google Fi instead.
ninty9notout
With 3 in UK I pay £22 a month for unlimited data. My past two years have been averaging 30Gb/month.
Almgandhi
Switzerland, 80 Bucks per Month, 4G+
fredbloxx
iinet - $69 unlimited adsl-2
swissguy37
The biggest provider here in Switzerland offers almost on every contract unlimited data, but they limit the speed accordingly.
Jaitch
UK here. £20 unlimited calls text and data. Also covers lots of countries not just Europe
PudgyPinkiePie
TIL Europe is a country
Jaitch
Aha. I meant countries outside the European zone. It's not just the euro roaming charges dealio thingy
TheMightyCock
In Vietnam the so called Unlimited data plan is only $3 but it's throttled after 3-4gb or something so it's not that great
Abbysomeoneabbynormal
Uk here. 6gb for £24. Unlimited calls/ texts
Spartanhex3
T-Mobile/U.S i pay $170 for 2 lines unlimited data and hotspot
YerDadSellsAvon
in the UK I pay £15 a month on 3 for unlimited text and data, with 200 minutes
Cian4rd
Same in Ireland
davaloha
With ee and currently pay £6 pm for 12gb and unlimited calls & texts with EU free roaming
YerDadSellsAvon
6? that's cheap my parents pay 20 for the same plan apart from 8 more GB of data
davaloha
Short term offer and only have 6 months left, then it goes up to 15 for it
Curii
Three? Because I'm on £18.
YerDadSellsAvon
yeah I got the sim only deal about 4 years ago
Curii
Got mine about 18 months back, which is likely why it was a bit more.
YerDadSellsAvon
Aye probably I first got the SIM with the iPhone 5 now it's in my s7 edge
otakon17
Yeah, unlimited is bullshit in the states. They throttle your speed and slow you down when you hit a certain data cap. Unlimited my ass.
UncleB0b
Australian here, $35 a month for 10.5GB. Change your provider, yo.
wyatt8740
My dad's grandfathered into AT&T's old unlimited plan from the late 2000's
DrFolk
Me too, they just tried to quote me on the new unlimited plans and it would have been 10 bucks more a month.
hungitalianohwaitthisisntgrindr
same. they keep trying to sell me on other plans. there is like a new unlimited plan but i’m not changing shit.
DerekCuster
Czechia 1,5GB for cca 25€
DarkiKun
14 a month only here, maybe you are in the wrong country
Lilpootpoot
Mine does not get throttled, never has. I had 60gb before they upgraded me to unlimited.
TK421isAFK
They "upgraded" you (for free, no doubt) so they could make you change contracts. Read it. All new Sprint (and other carrier) contracts 1/2
TK421isAFK
have bandwidth throttling written into them. It's how they get away with adding new phone lines without upgrading their infrastructure. 2/2
HaveYouSeenJeff
You gonna need to switch p soon bruh.
Lilpootpoot
Why? I'm a gal, bruh.
HaveYouSeenJeff
Sprint has been kinda on a razors edge for a while now unless I'm mistaken. I think they'll be bought out pretty soon. So you prolly won't
Lilpootpoot
Sprint and T-Mobile are merging.
HaveYouSeenJeff
Avetard
Pilipinas - About 6usd for 3gb at -usually- 4G speeds, it's enough for a month for me.
promethbastard
I pay $40 a month for 12gb, rollover, and data gifting is a thing I can do too. Australia here.
AzothTheGuildRat
Try Canada. Most plans with 4gb of data cost around $100
WraithShutterworks
Telus prepaid plan: Unlimited text (whatever), 150 mins, 250 MB. $37/mo.
Hurro
I'm sitting around 140/mo for free Canada wide calling unlimited (national) texting and usual shit. $85 of it is for 10gb. Damn Imgur....
TooManyPixels
I wish I knew that when I was still in
Vyreon
You might be able to get the discount if you have your CF One card!
DrYoloMcSwagmasterIIIEsq
I should probably get around to getting my CF One card, thanks.
jimmythejedi
Rogers Share Everything between my wife and I, 6GB: $180/month. But we do get NHL GameCentre Live for free, so that's something?
imAUser
Share 6 gigs?
jimmythejedi
Yup.
imAUser
Jeez.... what happens when u watch 1 game on ur data?
nekano
I think I have the worst, 55$ for 1Gb (recently upgraded from 500mb) and unlimited texts/minutes. That’s about it.
AzothTheGuildRat
Thats pretty much average in Canada
TooManyPixels
Wow....$60 usd for my 32gb unlimited plan. I get tethered after that, no extra charge
PianoMan2112
Canada is the shithole of cellular plans.
Spamamdorf
My cell plan is fine, 40$ a month for 2 gigs at 4G and unlimited at a slower rate past that, forget exactly how slow though
NaughtButOne
But it's fine because it's not a monopoly :^)
zergzapper
Atleast the internet here isn't as stupidly priced as straya or the states
NaughtButOne
Our internet is nothing to be proud of, either.
RogueEwok
I still have my unlimited plan from 2013 for $65
Peregrine2976
$55 a month and 8GB a month here. But I’m on Wind Mobile so really I’d be better off with no phone at all.
JayceFromStateFarm
I used to be with Wind but the second I got out of a 5km radius of my city I was on roaming no matter what direction I went
InsanityBuildsCharacter
lol, i remember when dcs-phones came in to market - going farther than 3km's home, i'd lose connection (this was in 1997, i think.)
ShutTheFuCupcakes
Wind now has roaming plan, I get a 1gb and unlimited everything else when outside the city on top of my regular 8 gigs inside the city
WhyShouldILoveYou
Wow, Canada isn't perfect?
imAUser
Rogers isnt sorry either
RedIronCrown
The population density here is quite low, which makes cellular infrastructure and thus pricing quite expensive.
WhyShouldILoveYou
Population density is pretty low in Finland too, from 17 people / sq.km to 2 people / sq.km in the north.
RedIronCrown
Low but not Canada low. Canada has 6x Finlands population but 30x its area.
GingerLaird
In the US certain ones say "unlimited" when they mean, "we'll let you use Xgb at full-speed, then throttle you for anything extra."
AStegosaurus
Every carrier does that in the US. They only throttle you if both A: you hit the limit and B: Bandwidth is limited. Limit on TMo is 50GB.
JakeRockwell
Not when the original plans came out. AT&T added underwriting to the old contracts stipulating throttled usage well after... was a lawsuit..
AStegosaurus
Every currently available "unlimited" plan does it. There are definitely some old ones which do not.
JakeRockwell
Not with my carrier... sad times. I'm on the first unlimited data plan with AT&T and I get dicked hard every month. Damn pornography.
RedIronCrown
You're mixing up bandwidth and transfer.
AStegosaurus
No I'm not. "Bandwidth is limited" = The cell tower is congested. "You hit the limit" = Your data limit before throttling happens.
fitlex
That wouldn't be legal in Australia, our home internet plans are say 500GB/m then they throttle. If it says unlimited, they can't throttle
fitlex
Though if you start pulling down dozens of terabytes per month they will fuck you on a fair use policy or whatever
GingerLaird
American Advertising will use words like "Free" And "Unlimited" to grab your attention, then reveal more information as you investigate. 1/2
GingerLaird
If they didn't show the real information on the 'package' it'd be false advertising, which is illegal. 2/2
Birkew
In Denmark we had a few years where ISP's said "Up to xx mbit".Thank god they're not allowed to do that anymore, now its a guaranteed speed
diehardlance
Eww home internet with data caps? Gross
GingerLaird
That is what they want to do in the US, but Congress has yet to clear it.
diehardlance
I know it sucks, Comcast is doing it a few places. Why do they want the go backwards? Phones even have unlimited data
