Got a bit nervous ...

…..one more…..

I was really worried until he walked nearly half a mile before the dynamite went off.

You'd still wanna rush but I think those fuses go on for a few minutes

Safety sandals at 0:40

Steel toe sandals

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was watching intently for them. Can confirm.

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Dude that was a mid-hobble, safety sandal transition!! Thanks for pointing this out, that was sick!

2 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

always have an escape plan.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This seriously sucks, that is terrifying. I was going to make a joke about "professional mining sandals" but this guy likely didn't choose these deadly conditions and lack of proper equipment... I'd guess he is either a slave, or this is literally the only option to keep his family from starving.

2 weeks ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I completely agree. I want to know the source and to complain

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's very silent at the end.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Today i learned, that my colleague would let me die ..

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The safety Sandles are the get away shoes. These are atrocious conditions and they get paid jack squat.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

maybe you should look into longer fuses that are already tied together and you could light them from say 15' away rather than 15 inches

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that costs more money, can't have that

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 weeks ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

1) Why is the escape stick not in position?
2) Why is the camera man not helping?
3) WHY DID THEY STOP IN A TUNNEL?

2 weeks ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Where else would they stop? You think they can get fully out of the mine every single time they do this?

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's the safe place. If that area collapse it's a full rock bed crushing you instantly. The first part you might get to suffocate while regretting your life decisions

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

All to make some other asshole even richer.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"no, we can't afford 6 extra feet of fuse. We can afford to let you die though, no problem."

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That's the wild thing about this. There are a whole bunch of cheap ways to make this significantly less terrifying, but no, some asshole mine owner just *has* to make $1.14 more profit.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Omg Terry! Get out of there Terry!

Trump's "Clean Coal" program ? BTW - "Black lung rates in Appalachia are high as the 1970s, with thousands of miners sick" https://www.npr.org/2026/08/05/nx-s1-5894884/appalachia-black-lung-coal-miners-silica-dust

Where's the Kaboom? Where's the earth shattering Kaboo..... oh there it is

2 weeks ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Soooo many people live in absolute squalor and misery, suffering daily, risking their lives, just so that we can watch funny cat videos on the toilet… why yes, I AM the life of the party, why do you ask?

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In-freaking-sane.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

what are they mining?

2 weeks ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

blood

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Human corpses by the looks of their safety standards.

Unobtanium.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Heck the way they don't care about safety I'm surprise they don't use the bones of the dead to dig and hold up the mine shaft to make it cheaper on resources.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe if his friend put down the camera and helped.

2 weeks ago | Likes 510 Dislikes 1

I don't have to outrun the blast. I just have to outrun the soft shielding body of the guy holding the camera.

And then at the end, nothing happened

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He threw a log at him, what more do you want bro?

2 weeks ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

He was also guarding his safety sandals to pass on to his next of kin. Who is probably him amd why he threw the log.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Donthelpjustfilm.

2 weeks ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

One last hurdle was getting past the unhelpful cameraman blocking the path.

2 weeks ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

"oh no, were gonna die and not have to work this shitty job anymore." they know what they're doing.

In David Attenborough voice: This is a mine. And the male of this species is a miner. Our miner is hurriedly setting explosive charges, which he would have prepared earlier in the day, to enlarge his hole. After some difficulty with the ignition of the explosive charges he is suddenly griped with the human 'flight or fight' response. Our miner has wisely chosen 'flight'. Finally, on this day, our cameras have successfully recorded a miners survival.

He slipped down on purpose for dramatic effect

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Or if he was actually wearing his fucking shoes.

Some people are alive purely because of dumb luck.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is against the rules, immediate red card and he's done for the season.

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Friend? Lol. He almost got Mufasa’d by his “Friend”

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I gotta wonder, if camera man would help him out if it got to late, or would cameraman have just up and ran on his own.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

I more question if this video is even real. 3 sticks were lit. 2 explosions were heard. They were also VERY VERY VERY dampened. some noise dampening is to be expected off of the echoing of rock...but that much? How strong/what they explosives were made from also changes the outcome. Theres also the chance that the 1st explosion tiggered 1 of the others sooner. There is enough leeway here to form a shadow of doubt is all I'm saying.

I would have to do a shit ton of research I don't wana do.

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

One of the fuses could have fizzled out from lack of oxygen in the rock or something. I dont know, I'm not a geogrophist or gastrointologist.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A lot of them contain oxidizer for that very reason.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i dont think there was suppose to be a lot of explosion. those are small tunnels, they just need to break through a little 4 foot opening. i would imagine a bigger blast would collapse the non-reinforced tunnels.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This isn't the first video I've seen I've this outfit. you just saw a video too short. It's real for sure.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wonder why those regions without work safety rules have so many workers die

2 weeks ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 1

Because of america forcefully instilling capitalist shithole governments by way of genocide. That's not hyperbole. Point to wherever you imagine such regions to be and chances are extremely high that american agencies committed atrocities there to "fight communism" (in reality, they installed capitalist regimes that would be subservient to america).

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

the republicans can only get so erect. who cares about safety or worker rights. when that nonsense gets in the way of profit. thats why they want everything deregulated

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Humans are the most advanced piece of machinery we can make with unskilled labor. So as long as they keep these folks cranking out kids and the entire family indebted to the company store to make them slaves out of the womb they won't give a crap about worker safety.

2 weeks ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I agree, the working class should simply stop reproducing. As should the ruling class. And everyone else, really.

2 weeks ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Right? We’ve proven as a species we can’t be trusted as stewards of the only fucking planet we have… it was a shitty run, let’s just call it and let the octopi take over.

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Im betting on ravens for the next overlords if you humans disappeared tomorrow. Got the brain power and the tool usage. Orcas have the smarts but don’t really have much impetus to advance much being already pretty easily at the top of their food chain.

Cephalopods are smart but haven’t changed much in a LONG time and don’t really have a mechanism to get past the reset between generations.

The mines in Cerro Rico have literally killed millions of workers over the past 500 years

2 weeks ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Damn it, it happened again. I opened Google Maps to see where Cerro Rico is, saw Bolivia, realized I was confusing Boliva and Belize, realized I was actually thinking of Guyana, ended up in the Caribbean, started exploring the volcanic island of Montserrat, learned it's history as I looked around the island, and ended up at Beatles music producer George Martin's abandoned studio an hour later. I forgot to look at Cerro Rico's location past Bolivia.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

maybe you stumble upon adhd some day googling something else

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I f-ing hate this world.
Can I please pay $0.05 more for my cell phone so this guy can have a f-ing ladder?

2 weeks ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

IDK- do you know what they are mining here?

2 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dont even know where they got a stick shaped like a ladder they are so tragically desperate

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No , The prez gotta fill his Yacht.

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You already have. But instead of spending the money on the ladder and necessary safety equipment, the executive team kept it and gave it to themselves as a bonus.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Electronics should get a "condition" scale like eggs do. I would pay extra to buy a phone with metals from free range, happy miners

2 weeks ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yes. FairPhone limits blood minerals but I don't know of others

2 weeks ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's good to know, I wasn't aware of that

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not available in the US though

2 weeks ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or the trillion dollar company make a few million in profit less.

2 weeks ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

but if that happens, how will the company EVER afford to pay the sharholders, the ceo bonuses, AND the employee wages at the same time?

Why won't people think of the children of the rich! They deserve being able to rent an entire city for a party
