Trump: More money for himself, fuck all others.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Missed Biden, then Trump's current term. Biden: Nearly stabilized the economy after the first Trump shit show broke everything. Trump: lit everything on fire using the Constitution as kindling... So that he could get more money for rich people.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I sense a pattern.

1 year ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 3

Thanks to the groundwork by Kennedy (with a large dose of Disney), as a child, I really thought we were going to the stars in my lifetime. But now I think we're heading back to the dark ages of disease where our top health "experts" reject basic germ theory.

Trump: MORE MONEY FOR RICH PEOPLE ... ESPECIALLY IF THEIR LAST NAME IS "TRUMP"

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

and their first name has to be Donald. ANd that other guy doesn't count

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You forgot LBJ and his fught for civil rights. Nixon fought for fascism 1.2.

1 year ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 8

Nixon approved the EPA and greatly improved relations with China. Both are great things.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Nixon approved the EPA just so environmentalists would shut up. He was just throwing them a bone.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And that’s fine. More than we get these days. I don’t care why people do good things, so long as they do them.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on context I suppose. I love how we create our own enemies to almost validate why we have trillion dollar weapon systems.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can edit and make a more complete version for the win

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

You also forgot that there were two Bush presidents

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Bush Sr was just Reagan term 3.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For Clinton, I would add destroying welfare and helping to enable one of the biggest jumps in income inequality in modern times.

For Obama, I would put giving 245 billion dollars to banks who for the sake of greed almost destroyed the American economy. Those CEOs received no consequences.

No matter the president, democratic or republican, the story remains the same less for you and more for the elites. Don't believe me, do your own research. And stop with this stupid tribalism.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

While the democrats are the best party out of two shitty options, I would like encourage democratic voters to distance themselves from them and stop playing team sports. As an example, please consider the factor 8 scandal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjGX9RJ7Cug

The convicted rapist is also “attempt erase my crimes in a desperate attempt to whitewash recent history”.

1 year ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 1

He's already got immunity thanks to the supreme court, he's almost certain to person himself for any crimes on the way out just to double layer that protection. Only fear is probably the mountain of civil cases heading his way, most likely why talking about a third term.

Clintons mission was to gut the welfare state and Obama abandoned Universal healthcare almost immediately… yall gotta stop thinking these people who commit war crimes like it’s a hobby are in anyway good people that you should like or respect

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why did they skip Bush Sr? Or am I just supposed to assume it was the same for both

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

They also skipped Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and Carter -- everyone between Kennedy and Reagan. Honestly, it really doesn't change the trend much, so they may have been aiming for brevity.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Economically, Bush Sr. was basically an extension of Reagan. At least as far as I remember. About the only thing he's specifically remembered for is the Gulf War.

Which, y'know, also contributed to the rich people, as @blubberingbastard said.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And "Read My Lips, No New Taxes" that he promptly flip flopped over.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's one of the things I just saw as continuing his predecessor's work.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oil in the gulf = More money for rich people

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Eliminate debt is just another way to say "austerity". Obama failed (this happens, it's OK) but when his ideological policy (Medicare for all) was up for nomination via Bernie, he chose to actively block Bernie with all his effort.
It's just neoliberal capitalism (red is worse than blue without question) but both are not "good".

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't this over simplification hurt any chance of change?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The right has brainwashed the entire country into constantly shitting on Democrats.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

This is perfect, 100% true and well said.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Liberals will shoot themselves before letting the left get a single damn thing. If we (dems) had people actually showed that they cared running for president instead of empty buerocrats, we wouldn't be in this mess.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I married my husband in 2015 thanks to Democrats. I know people alive today thanks to the ACA. I know people who had their student loans forgiven by Biden.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Okay great! I'm not saying democrats never did anything good. They're very obviously the lesser evil, which is why I've voted dem for my entire adult life. But they still suck ass and deserve criticism. There's no need to settle for enabling genocide or otherwise being bad at their jobs.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ignoring Republican malfeasance to criticize Democrats is how we got here. Republicans overturned Roe, and instead of holding them accountable the nation blamed Obama and Democrats for "not codifying it". If the Republicans had been voted out en masse, and people stated Roe as the cause, ***it would have been the progressive mandate we've been waiting for***. Change has to come from the ground up.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The truly sad part? There is no law Obama could have passed that the SCOTUS couldn't declare unconstitutional! The whole thing was insanity. The nation pathologically shits on Democrats.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can see it in this thread when they talk about the AHCA. They keep ignoring that the "majority" was a paper majority with "democrats" that included people that spiked attempts at a better deal like Manchen spiked everything for Biden's presidency.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep. Republicans overturned Roe - ROE - and instead of even wanting to hold them accountable those people started tripping over themselves to blame Democrats for - get this - "not codifying it". There is literally no law they could have passed that the SCOTUS couldn't declare unconstitutional. It was an obvious right wing op (as I'm sure a couple of those commenters are as well) but the whole country fell for it, because again, we've been brainwashed to reflexively shit on Democrats.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, in order to make it a amendment or other meaningful law, they would have to have had a majority big enough to do so, which they haven't since, what, early Clinton? The fact that Obama and Biden got even a single fucking thing done is incredible, given how stacked the deck was.

But sure, blame to "Do Nothing Democrats" for not doing enough.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep. They don't give the Dems enough power, then complain when they don't do enough. Happens every time. A voter mandate would take care of this in one election cycle. Completely serious. In '24, if Republicans had been voted out en masse, and people stated Roe as the reason, it would have been the progressive mandate they claim to want! But instead, they just started screaming "iT's ObAmA's FaUlT!". Literal insanity.

You can't forget LBJ

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think the last great Republican was president Dwight D Eisenhower.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'd agree. It's been a lot of shit since then.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guys in noticing a pattern here. I think republicans are just following good presidents and trying to funnel as much money as possible into their own pockets

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Trump has a dual agenda of actively fucking over poor people. It's not just about the rich.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last president to lower the national debt was Clinton!! My hubby is “fiscally conservative” and has always voted democrat because the evidence that democrats have been best for the economy is clear when you look at the data.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The Dems need to post these everywhere.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Has Trump even achieved that? like, maybe for one or two of them but overall?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Universal healthcare: my ass. We got the preexisting conditions thing, which was good . . . but doesn't really mater because they just refuse the treatment anyways.

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 5

it says goal, not accomplishment. still iffy, but as I recall what he wanted was more substantial than what got passed. e.g. wanted to include a public option, but lieberman wouldn't go for it, and they needed him for 60 votes.

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

The real wrecking was by the Supreme Court and subsequent Republican congresses after the ACA was passed.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The original plans (shot down by republicans) was basically canada-level healthcare. Better in every way but not as good as europe.

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

This is patently untrue, not the least of which because Republicans had no power to shoot down anything unless Obama let them (and of course he did). He did NOT have slim majorities in his first 2 years. But this was the story of Obama's entire presidency: 1: propose Republican idea to try and get republican support (that he didn't even need), 2: still get zero republican votes, 3: pass the republican plan anyway and then take all the flak when it's woefully inadequate.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Their filibuster proof 60 vote majority, needing 2 indy votes, WAS slim, and it was lost 1 year into his presidency. There were challenges and concessions demanded from within the dem party, and then repubs since the filibuster proof majority was lost, so the initial proposal was neutered in order to pass in 2010.

Public stoked fear over healthcare reform played a big part in losing the filibuster proof majority in 2010, and majority in the 2011 midterms. The remaining 6 were defined by that.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Universal Healthcare was just a tool for negotiating with the Insurance Agencies, Obama was never seriously planning it.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

That's some dumb bot shit. Every reasonable country understands its value, but we get stuck with lobbyists owning congress. Republicans will always protect those making money, so we will never get it.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

This is also dumb bot shit. Early in his presidency, the Republicans had zero ability to block Obama's agenda if he was serious about implementing it. He came into office with a nearly 80 seat majority in the House, and 59 (then briefly 60, then 59 again) seats in the Senate. Newsflash, Republicans aren't the only ones owned by lobbyists, they're just the worst/most brazen. A reminder, we literally just had a Dem president who explicitly ran against universal healthcare.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Dems were in the majority dude, republicans didn’t block shit. Universal healthcare was abandoned almost immediately

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The ACA as written provided universal healthcare for all Americans regardless of ability to pay.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here, you know 10s of thousands of Americans still die every year from lack of healthcare right?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You know the ACA was not implemented as written because the Supreme Court made up some absolute lawless bullshit to butcher it, right? And then later Republican congresses fucked up the exchange subsidies, mandate & risk corridors? If you have any interest in health policy at all this should be one of the very first facts you learn about.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You’re kidding right? The courts don’t get involved until a bill is passed and someone sues. It was NEVER universal healthcare my guy. And the part the courts removed was a mandate for people to either pay for healthcare or get taxed.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Please I beg you rectify your fucking ignorance. https://klrd.gov/2023/11/30/supreme-court-rulings-impact-on-affordable-care-act/

https://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/newsletter-article/obama-shying-away-public-option-or-not this article is from before the ACA even passed and it’s about how the Dems are backing away from even a public OPTION. Not UVHC, just an option. You don’t know what you’re talking about

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The public option was estimated by the CBO to reduce premiums less than 5%. It was always a nothingburger.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Biden: Just keep America out of the shitter.
Trump 2: Give Democracy a swirlie.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Homelessness and poverty skyrocketed under Biden and he was committing a genocide…

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Now this is some liberal propaganda. We all know Republicans and Democrats both strive for the same thing because they both serve the same wealthy masters.

Welcome to imgur. It's all liberal propaganda. If you say otherwise, you get downvoted to oblivion. Then, the downvote fairies come in and downvote your every post and every comment you have ever made. I'll see ya at the bottom.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 6

As someone who regularly trashes the current U.S. administration: I think "propaganda" is inaccurate; I'd say it's more of a circlejerk. The difference is that it's a tribal venting of frustration, not a directed campaign of disinformation. Same as most conservative spaces.

And to be fair to Imgur, I've noticed more instances here of "I agree with the sentiment, but your statement needs a source" than most other places.

It's not "fair and balanced", but I've not seen anyone claim otherwise.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yep. Clinton's NAFTA and deregulation of the markets were about funneling money into the pockets of rich americans.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

And Obama only continued American imperialism, following in his Republican predecessor's footsteps.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Nothing republican or democrat about that, it's the American system under either party.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly, they both serve the same masters.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Republicans are the only party to get the poor to hate the poor and idolize the rich.

1 year ago | Likes 346 Dislikes 3

The only one in the US. Out of 2 relevant parties. But be assured, the same lies are told all over the world, often successfully. Sometimes even by several parties in the same country. *Sigh...*

Fox "news" plays a big part.

Nazis also did this

And they are VERY good at that objective. When you trim your party's goals down to 3-4 goals, they're pretty easy to achieve.

I think "eliminate US democracy/rule of law" should probably be Trump's primary goal at this point

1 year ago | Likes 890 Dislikes 7

But it's only a step to more money for rich people, so no

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

But also....more money for rich people lol

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sure, but let's not forget why. It's more money for rich people. It's always the end goal.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is also for rich people.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think we're all so Iraq/Afghanistan traumatized we forget Bush/Cheney did this 20 years ago. Trump is the latest edition, but he did not get us here.

Your comment made me think of this sketch about yachts and slavery https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP86tCya2/

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's not the goal, that's how they aim to achieve the goal...

1 year ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

No, Trump definitely wants to be a dictator. Money for the rich is his secondary goal. At least in concept. In practice it's his primary accomplishment.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're confusing the method and the goal. You're forgeting WHY he wants to be a dictator... He doesn't give a rats ass about the people, the country, trade deals, wars in other countries, religion, abortion or anything like that, it's all a show... He cares about one thing only: lining his pockets with as much money as he can get his grubby little mitts on. He doesn't even give a shit about other rich people getting richer, that's just a by product of making himself richer.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What he wants is to be able to do whatever he wants and have people tell him he's awesome for doing it.

Nixon?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, to be fair, that's pretty much Objective 2 for everyone on this list. "Even Obama?" you say. I assume so, yes.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

well the chart is missing a step. Biden: undid everything trump broke. then trump; eliminate US democracy/rule of law

1 year ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 3

I thought Biden was the infrastructure guy

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't even come close to undoing everything Trump broke, regrettably. Tried his best but stayed firmly within the confines of traditional presidential procedure, which Trump absolutely did not do, so Trump broke things at a rate five times faster than Biden could fix. Honestly that's the entire reason he was able to get back in, too - he broke elections as well.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 4

He was able to get back in for a variety of reasons, but the two big ones are Harris had a foreshortened campaign and the media wanted trump back very desperately and so carried his water for the entire year.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I honestly think that some people voted for the felon, third party, or just stayed home when they would have cast a ballot for Walz or any other male democrat.
