Aussies are just free-range Canadians

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats a great compliment! Ill take it any time a'day

As a Canadian I just want to be called a cunt by Aussies.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny , this is an Australian image.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A Canadian would never be offended by this. I love those silly Chazwazzers - A Canadian

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

pretty sure that's a toboggan.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Canadian here. Not even remotely offended. It’s a nice compliment.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Aussie jokes often identify who can't take a joke. Some people are too sensitive to be friends with.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Found a snow bogan 💙

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, it was intended as such. My mate married a Canadian and she could swear and be a lot more cruder than any of us.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean, as nations we are basically close brothers. It makes sense.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Controversial take: New Zealand is to Australia as Canada is to the United States. Canadians are Winter Kiwis.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cold Aussies... lol.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

y'all, as a Canadian, I feel flattered to be called a cold aussie!

Usually they pretend it was all done by the British and hope no one looks at more recent history....

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ever been skiing in Canada? Did you notice that about two-thirds of all the people working at the resorts were Australians? There's two places in the world you can go to find college-age Australians on working holidays, and that's pubs in the UK and ski resorts in Canuckistan.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s a bit crass to say they are rooting for the soccer team, but I have to ask, who is getting rooted for the soccer team?

2 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 2

Soccer mom's, that's who

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I do like how a lot of people overlooked that. Maybe they meant they want to root the whole soccer team

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

My grandmother used to "root around in drawers" looking for things.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Looking for her rootin wand no doubt.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Don't listen to the parrot, he's a fucken liar.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

When my aussie friends living in the UK had a kid I sent them 'Roots' baby clothing.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Friend wore her Roots cap while visiting Australia. They were amused, she was horrified.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

But how much friendly conversation from smiling, gleaming eyed strange men was she treated to prior?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank goodness, just smiles and the odd chuckle.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does "rooting" for the soccer team have another meaning than "cheering for"? I'm a confused yankee..

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Prolly sex

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Got it in one.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah rooting means fucking. You’re not rooting for a soccer team unless you’re treating your wife’s lady bits like a clown car.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It’s even in lyrics from U.S.’s most famous baseball song, “Take Me out to the Ball Game” which was written in 1908. Final stanza lyrics are “Let me root, root, root for the home team, if they don't win, it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,. At the old ball game.”

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As an american: Whut?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Australian: "Go Canadian soccer team! I want the Cold Aussie team to win!" Canadian: "That term is offensive to us!" Australian: "Shut up, you Snow Hillbilly!"

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Negative. The Australians are simply DESERT CANUCKS THERE I SAID IT

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Um has anyone explained what rooting means in Australian? Cause um yeah rooting is bumping uglies, making the first statement even funnier to me!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Snowgan.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

46 year old Canadian here . You can’t offend me . My generation is the last of the “go outside and play/ come back for supper/ drink out of the warm garden hose/ punch the bully in the face” people. Everyone relax . We will be fine .

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've always thought it was Canadians and Kiwis who were alike? Both the kinder version of their loud neighbour.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whoaaaa Australia does not want to be compared to USA.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everybody is wrong here. Aussies are Sun Irish and Canadians are Snow Irish. Scots are just Mountain Irish.

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

They're all English to me and most of human beings alive today. Yes that includes the Irish, unless they don't speak English.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

So Irish are... elves?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lowland Scots are drunk(er) Irish.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Does that make Americans Gun Irish?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm on board with this.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And then the Gun Nation attacked

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That tracks actually because if you ask any Canadian, American or Aussie they'll happily tell you about their Irish ancestor a few generations back. We're all a bit Irish because the Irish shagged everybody back in the day.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Rawdogging it too

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and the Irish are drunk

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be honest, as a Quebecker I don't feel offended. We're a bit like Australians, we don't speak proper French just like they don't speak proper English. What are they going to do if it pisses them off? Boomerangs don't work as good in dense cold air...

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I've had several French mates who've been over to Canada and they have not had anything nice to say about the way you speak French. But that's the French for you ;)

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's okay, we don't have anything nice to say of them when they prance around our universities saying we do everything wrong from speaking to food.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's missing a section for the white part of the flag - "the countryside"

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Before my parents had me, they toured France. They said everywhere they went they would try to speak French, but as soon as the French realised they were Aussies and not English, they’d immediately brighten up and switch to speaking English themselves. Not sure if for my parents’ sake or just to prevent them from mangling the precious language any further. Probably both.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure half of Canada is married to an Australian so, pretty accurate.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Lol one of my friends from Queensland moved to Canada, married a nice girl, had a kid, and has now moved back home to Australia with his new family.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just the one Australian?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeh, Kev. They just love him for some reason.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ohhhh it's Kev OK then that makes sense. Shoulda known.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Fahkin legend, Kev

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What can you expect from someone that spells out countries names without using a capitol letter. Even his own name. :P

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Maybe his keyboard is broken.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is the capitol letter the one that determines what order the others have to line up in?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What's the letter of the seat of the US Congress in Washington DC?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I used to have an aussie friend who explained to me what a Bogan was, and that she was terrified of them lol. I guess they're rednecks to the nth degree.

2 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

So, like Floridians from the panhandle, with Confederate flags, and red hats, and married to their cousins?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Imo (as an Aussie) it can be used affectionately too. I love the bogans in my life. And now that I'm in the US I try to sound more bogan

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

lol, I thought is was a play on words with toboggan.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Explain it to me like I’m five

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Imagine if redneck or hillbillies had their own rednecks/hillbillies that they were terrified of.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You're five? You probably have better grammar and vocab than bogans.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Basically, they're shit-cunts.

Oh, you meant like a non-Australian five year old.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Can you explain it to my friend too?

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Cross between a hillbilly and a skid

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Can we talk about the picture on the left 😂

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think it speaks for itself

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine if redneck or hillbillies had their own rednecks/hillbillies that they were terrified of.

2 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Whahaha, thanks mate!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They do, West Virginians and those from the Florida panhandle.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

v

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

From what I gather they're called "Hill people"

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Stay out of Boone County WV.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

fuckin' degens from up country?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Canadian here, I don't know what we're meant to do with this. You can't threaten an Australian, there's nothing I could do that's half as bad as they encounter walking to school as kids.

2 years ago | Likes 568 Dislikes 0

You could tell them to go to America.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 0

You dead right cunno. Much love fron us desert canucks.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My understanding is that getting insulted by an Aussie is a sign of affection. Also applies to Scots.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Beyond a harsh winter and maybe some bears, your country produces some of the best snipers in the world. So there's that.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is because we really like to find a warm comfy place and stay put because there aren't many of those. But sometimes you gotta take an enemy out who's nowhere near your warm comfy spot. Hence sniping.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*Canada Geese

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it makes you feel better we're literally in high alert exploding tree season

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Which are you--Canadian or Aussie? I can't tell from that clue.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh, I have a few Canadian geese we can send them that nobody'll miss?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We’re meant to do nothing but high five the bastard for a good one!! They are part of us and we are part of them, even though we’re worlds apart. Same sense of humOUr and we spell colour the same. Better fit than you know who. 😉 (the Brits, obviously) It’s nothing if not a compliment! 😁👍

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Drowning in a vat of maple syrup?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the stuff living in our houses

2 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Yeah. I definitely don’t want an Australian jiving in my house. /s

2 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This man's fucking national treasure of a cunt.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sure you can, threaten to send them to the Arctic in the middle of winter. That would terrify most Australians.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Threaten to bring them here. They'll freeze.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still safer than American kids who are in school

2 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 2

apparently Australia is the country that the community feels the most similar to canada. Ill take being compared to australian a lot more than americans

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? I would bet good money on a moose winning vs a kangaroo any day. I also don't take offense being called a cold Australian either though.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, swooping magpies.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

They're okay, good cunts really, just got to respect they're space during nesting season.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s well documented that Australians are afraid of Tasmanian devils, because they sent most of them there. :D

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I read somewhere that when dealing with kangaroos, wallabies, etc, standing straight up is a threat display, which is why they try to kill you, but if you just hunch over and bend your legs they are a lot more chill

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can't really blame that Wallaby for being pissed though given the circumstances

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

just realize how dreadfull canada-amounts of snow is to an aussi for them to recognize you as equals.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Canadian here, and absolutely thrilled to have my soccer team rooted for, and called a snow Aussie!

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

introduce them to a hungry grizzly/polar bear/wolverine/urban raccoon...I mean, we got choices

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Not moose or geese?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as a canadian, I CAN intimidate a goose. A moose, I could see an aussie getting along with. The others are hungry because then they'd think the aussie's food

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My neighbor in Nova Scotia. Sorry for potato, mega-zoom. Def not fren, would not touch.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That'll just result in several viral videos of Aussies punching the crap out of any or all of the above.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Aussie vs. Racoon or Wolverine....that's a fair fight. the other two...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

priceless, calling them "Cunts" for good measure.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's fine, I'm friends with an Aussie. He almost died daily in Canada in the winter.

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Daily XD

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Each to his proper biome, I'd be "uncomfortable" in the Australian heat, too...

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You should come here atm.. 7 days in a row over 36C.. Gonna be 32C at 9 am tomorrow..

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I’m from the US south. Bring it on.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well beat you for temp.. But not humidity.. We get desert heat not tropical heat.. Anyway, it's still supposed to be spring ffs

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eeeeeeyyyyyy fellow Perth lad!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also.. Shit is on fire.. In the city...

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Fellow Perth friend?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I know my limits. -53 to +28. Don't ask me to be outside above 30.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Fuck me man. With El nino this summer I'd say we (southern Australia) will bet getting plenty of days over 40 and probably some over 45.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

-53 is an AWEFULLY specific number

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I was still able to get my truck to start. I'm not convinced it would have at lower temperatures. The engine really didn't like it.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Coldest I ever experienced, and I didn't mind it, but breathing definitely hurt.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

We could threaten them with snow... /s

2 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 1

Exactly, the "Informer" type Snow.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whistler is, like, their favourite place on earth.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please? It would cost a small fortune to take my family to see it from here.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I live in saskatchewan and spend 4 months of the year looking at real estate in Austin...just dreaming of never shoveling snow again

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

australia* I would just never move to Texas

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We have a Texas if you'd like. Apparently it has snowed there at least once https://www.weatherarmidale.com/Qldsnow1.htm

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You genuinely can. We're unprepared for it. I was just having that exact conversation with a Canadian and a Russian. What even is a snow tire?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A snow tire is a tire made of hardpacked snow galvanized with maple syrup. The syrup helps the tires stick to the road in icy conditions.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you. As a Texan I had only heard snow tires mentioned in movies and television and wasn’t sure what they were.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So seriously, they're a tire made of a softer rubber with higher traction on ice. Also tends to have deep grooves that catch and keep rocks, so they act a bit more like the superior studded winter tires. Btw, that softer rubber wears away quickly on dry pavement in warm weather, so changing them out in spring saves the tread.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Couple of days of negative temperatures would pretty much wipe out a good percentage of us.

2 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 0

I lived in Canada for 6 yrs, can confirm I died.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry for your loss

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Come on cunt, we got the snowys, where I board every year in *checks notes* 2-12 degrees...

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Madness.. People live down there, I've seen it on tv.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Laughs in -30 degrees Canadian winter.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We have snow! (In the white bits, in winter.)

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Went through the Blue Mountains during a Sydney to Melbourne road trip in April 2002. Did not expect the cold, nor the sun falling like a hammer at 6PM. Fun experience though

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are those mountains?

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Yeah, southern parts of the Great Dividing Range https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Dividing_Range

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mountain is a stretch but yes

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's fair.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've met Aussies. They'd be wandering about in flip flops and shorts, and trying to start a BBQ.

2 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

So Canadians.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And 9 beers deep, don't sell us short

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Na mate. They're thongs, not flip flops.

2 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

They'd be walking around in flip flops and thongs?

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

🤣

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thongs and thongs. Thongs². Don't tell Sisqó.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Thongs and g-strings, mate.
