And the dude is driving a Tesla so it would have prevented intentionally hitting someone that wasn't a child

Glad Both of you got out-o-There!!! ( soundtrack was Awesome!! )

Some people are too eager to have an excuse to kill someone... And live in a fantasy world when it's not a situation they have to face.

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nobody getting hurt is the ideal scenario.
Sounds like this guy kept his cool, probably saved a life, and still made it home for dinner.

That's a win in my book.

1 week ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 5

yea he said no one got hurt, but he also said that guy got "eye gauged, cuts and bloody mouth"

6 days ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Reading the account it seems someone got hurt. "Eye gouged, cuts, and a bloody mouth" sounds kinda hurt to me.

1 week ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Yeah, I was also confused about the nobody got hurt part..

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wonder if a news article is out on this? Seems fairly recent though

1 week ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

I looked up “Vancouver knife attack” and this is the first thing that popped up (published an hour ago): https://www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article/man-charged-after-dramatic-bc-knife-chase-caught-on-camera/

1 week ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

It's so very fortunate that knife guy stumbled repeatedly.

1 week ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

Looks like he hurt his ankle jumping off the truck

6 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A sudden stop where the attacker would hurl himself into the car and then starting again is also a good non violent stopper (While being violent to the guy)And then go again backwards as not to have a roll over....that looks bay on your behalf.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man I'm sure she's so missing said ex after that crazy situation /s!

/s = sarcasm

I say this as someone with similar experience and definitely happy I left

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

/s means close sarcasm. As in, sarcasm ends here.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, it certainly looked like he had enough time to let the guy in first. He was at the door before the guy even stood back up.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ngl I got my green shirts mixed up and I thought he was back away from the dude who needed help and making him run

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

"Should have run him over" ........ WTF this isn't an action movie.

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

You did good, dude!

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm not sure I could reverse along a straight road under that much pressure

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Someone brought a knife to a car fight.
Tho why did he drag the poor guy, and what happened to the girl? She kinda disappeared.
Also whomever added the music can straight fuck off.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, running the guy down would be a bad way to fuck yourself, as that's not a defence, that's attempted vehicular manslaughter. Were the cuts and damage on the victim from the knife wielding maniac, or the vehicle dragging him?

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Wow a guy in a Tesla did something right?

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the point of this video is that the guy in the car didnt do something right when he could have.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

That music is from a movie called: Sicario

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Specifically Johann Jóhansson's 'The Beast'. Masterful production

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm going to start practicing backing up on an empty Street before anybody can get close to my car.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So... what size were his eyes?

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now imagine if Mr "24 days later" had been carrying a pistol

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't buy that story.

Those were some pretty fast zombies, a new strain perhaps and the government made up that entire ex-bf knife story, i'm sure!

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

POV: you're picking up your friend, he lives in the West Bank

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

also he's driving a tesla; it'd crumple like a beer cand without hurtuig the nutcase

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, run over a stranger and go to jail for homicide. Totally cool way to end the day.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Especially for a situation you're not a part of.

Someone posted this and voiced his opinion on it, claiming this is what Canada gets for not allowing citizen to own arms, which allowed the aggressor to have a weapon while the victim is empty handed. Him and his commenters all laughed at the matter and claimed this is why US have right to bear arms.
I got so mad I had to block and report him immediately.
First of all, nothing is stopping the victim to also carry a legal knife, so the whole argument on that is just invalid
Secondly ..

6 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Besides, if the victim could have a gun, then Knife-Guy could have just as easily ALSO had a gun, and wouldn't have needed to try to get close enough to stab his intended victim.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the problem with the whole "good guy with a gun" bullshit argument. If the good guy can have a gun, then so can the BAD guy.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... I guess those people are also just too ignorant to look at crime statistical differences between the two countries.
At the end of the day, they just want their adult toys more than anything else.

6 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

They've sure showed us what guns can do for their liberty in the past year 🙄

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only reason hitting him with a car should have been an option is if he went back for the woman. Apparently he did not, thankfully.

1 week ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 4

Or he pointed a gun at the driver.

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

running at the car with a knife would cover it self defense wise.

1 week ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 6

Nah, if avoiding the fight is a reasonable option then its not self defence

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

defense of another as oneself, hit him with your car...

7 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

defense of others maybe, but a man with a knife likely doesn’t reach justifiable deadly force (which hitting with a car is) unless he breaks the plane of the vehicle (like smashing the window). I know for using a gun to defend yourself against someone outside the car with a weapon you can’t legally shoot in self defense unless they break through (unless they have a gun/bow/something that could harm you through the glass). A man with a knife is no threat if you’re in the car, until the>

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

ok sure bud, I'll hit him and take my chances in court.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You are pretending a knife can't break a window. absurd.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

windows are broken and he can reach you. Again though, the bigger thing here would be defense of others for the argument about using deadly force (which again, ramming someone with your car is). which becomes debatable when a person clearly is imperiled and fleeing from an aggressor giving chase. Though I won’t pretend to know what the end result of that court case would be, it certainly wouldn’t be open and shut.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

A good defense lawyer would get you out of it pretty easily. He was armed with a deadly weapon and had already used it upon a person, demonstrating both means an intent.

6 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

"I feared for my life."

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

People need to learn to separate movies from reality. Hitting him with the car is a bad idea. On so many levels.

1 week ago | Likes 416 Dislikes 10

Attempted vehicle homicide.

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also there's no need to? Unless you're being chased by the Terminator, no one can keep up with a car. Just leave.

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You'd also be liable to the damage you made to your own vehicle by intentionally hitting that guy, AND aside from a horrendous legal battle you'd also be losing your car for months as it becomes evidence.
Always avoid a fight if you can, ESPECIALLY if they have a knife.

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup. Basically going to fight for your life in court spending $100,000+ on lawyers to prove it was self defense. A life ruining situation best avoided if possible

6 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

At a minimum... so much paperwork.

6 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If he runs over and stabs that woman then this entire situation changes. Unfortunately, this is a crazed person and he's not just endangering you, he's endangering everyone around. Hitting him with the car is actually the correct move, on every level. You have no idea his mental state, and protecting everyone around you from a crazed person with a knife is always going to be the #1 play no matter the outcome.

This is why you don't pick up a weapon and run around.

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 32

not in Canada, unfortunately. Until he makes a move towards anyone else, there's no reasonable grounds to assault them with a car, and that would most likely end up getting you murder/assault charges. You have a legal duty to flee here, and re-entering a dangerous situation when you can and have escaped makes you the aggravator,, and therefore criminally liable if any harm arises.

You watch too many movies.

1 week ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

Enjoy spending $100,000+ on lawyers proving that. Absolutely last resort, not fist decision in this situation

6 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Dragging a dude holding onto your open rear door while you reverse at 25km/h is also a bad idea on so many levels. Like, I wasn't there in the guy's head and it turned out okay. But if he'd slipped and gone under the front tire? All it woulda taken is one rock, one pothole, one bump, or veering too far to the side of the road.

6 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Plus that looks like a Tesla, so I don’t think you can intentionally run someone over with it. Tho it might do it “by accident”.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Nah, just put it in SELF-DRIVING MODE It'll do the rest.

6 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If you are running at me with a knife, I'm RUNNING YOUR ASS OVER. Then, I'm backing up over you, then running you over again.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Usually some bone spurs worshipping MAGAT that couldn't survive missing a haircut after two weeks. Fuck them and their arm chair quarterbacking

6 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Says you. Every start of an isekai is the main character getting hit by a car/truck. For all we know, if we hit him, he gets teleported to another world.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, Hell.

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Most people aren't prepared for what the human body looks like when deconstructed in a violent manner (myself included) that would likely have resulted from being run over or struck with a vehicle, so I strongly agree.

I'm glad to hear of a potentially violent situation being resolved without escalation/murder/etc.

1 week ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

In this scenario, driver did the right thing. The universal "nuu, never fight back, don't you understand it's bad and scary" talk is why we have fascism. Grow spines.

As someone who is familiar with the resulting... mess, so to speak, no one is ready for it.

1 week ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I try but I'm not going to lie and say I don't have a playlist in my head for the day when a bank robbers gets in my car and I have to become a getaway driver. I also may have some routes planned out.

Ever watch "Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill"? You'll recognize some of the dialog.

eh.... depends how much you care about dents.

1 week ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 5

How much do you care about jail?

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

self defense... You CAN use your car, you just have to stop once the threat is disabled.

6 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As I read this the driver wasn't under threat, self defense would be a stretch and I ain't rolling those dice over some strangers bullshit that I know nothing about. You already helped the guy being chased, anything past that is just asking for trouble
