MightyIink
If I was the cop I would give him 4 parking tickets.
xj4low
Private parking lot and not involving a handicap spot. Cop won't do anything.
GoodLookingFatOldGuy2
It is a new $40k vehicle, still shiny and smelling nice. I understand the owner not wanting to scratch & dent it by trying to maneuver in between two cars, especially if they are new to driving a taller longer vehicle like this, that turns like a small truck instead of like a front wheel drive compact car. That said, the back of the parking lot is where one does this crap.
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
Knowing his type, your nasty note will only bring him not just pleasure, but amusement as well
nclu
And this is all downstream of the car dependent design of modern development. The isolation and contentiousness for limited resources produced becomes a brainworm in certain people and they become huge assholes. Hell, Disney had a cartoon about it ~70 years ago where Donald became a raging jerk when behind the wheel. At very least dude should be charged a fair price for 4 parking spots
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
No, this is just concentrated assholery, nothing else.
FlatPlutoSociety
Hah, my parking job sure did trigger the libs!
Thornaxe
Disapproval from others has no effect. This type of filth requires stick to bring them to heel.
notkvothethebloodless
Probably jerk himself while muttering about owning the libs
sfrinlan
Yeah, definitely not like they parked like that innocently and a note will make them realize the wrong they've done
FoolishMortal
I don't judge people by any physical or social metric, but I will judge you by what kind of vehicle you drive and how you park. Giant pickup that's never seen a load of drywall or bales of hay parked in a spot marked "small car" = asshat.
gobblinal
Except for the parking lots where ALL the f'g spots are "small car". My car isn't all that big (it's just old) and even I can have troubles finding a spot where I'm less worried about accidentally hitting someone's vehicle or blocking the door.
StonesTwice
park it in or place all the shopping carts you can find around it
Neurisko
Considering the type of personality behind this park job, they'd probably ram the carts into ever car nearby just in case they hit someone who did it, or just because they're angry and want to show what a big special boy they are.
DerpyWombat13
Don't leave notes, use expandable Insulating foam in his exhaust pipe.
bunnyandbear
Part A epoxy is effective on windshields. No need for hardener. Quick application, effective, and the more you wipe if off, the worse it gets.
PuckerScream
This kind of thing comes to mind. Granted he's not driving a Vette, but the same principle applies.
Jessebob42
I hope the wind accidentally caught your door and dinged it. Not really. But it’s fun to think about.
eviloce
Find the Tow company sign for the lot and call them.
alcamar
Park in one of the spots, without hitting them but super close. That'll piss them off to no end even if they have a ton of outs
DAVID574
In his defense, he was drunk...
geekyfarmer

Call the police non-emergency line. Cops love giving fucking traffic citations to fill their quotas for easy promotions. They'll ticket him.

cosinewave
Just need 4 people to block him in
RooGryphon
you need 4 cinder blocks or 1 sharp knife
DLoSer
Two, if you're brave and willing to chance a ticket of your own
TheN8
I reckon most parking wardens would give you a pass if they saw you blocking in an asshat like this.
tinydog
If I had really been feeling vindictive, I would have braved the torrents of rain to surround his truck with like 30 shopping carts.
TK421isAFK
Make sure to run one of those cables through them all - the ones stores use to lock carts together at night.
mktrat
Don't forget the zip ties!!!
AtmaDarkwolf
lol with zipties on the carts tying them together in bad positions so u can't move them without cutting the ties first.
WaterUnderTheRocketAppliances
Don't forget to empty all the nearby trash cans into the truck bed.
JinxRocks
Borrowing the idea from a friend: LiquidAss pour a little just outside the driver door where he smells it... Bad Karma is a heinous smell. No damage done to his vehicle, but still.. he has to face the stench :)
RoombaTheAssaultVacuum
I used to have a colleague who worked in the towing industry and lived for stuff like this. He would notify the proper authorities and then haul their truck away. Oh god it didn't happen often but when it did he said seeing these assholes freak out was catharsis that cannot be put to words, and everyone else trying to park sees you like a hero.
DrBricks
just a thin line of shampoo on their windshield wiper, then when they turn them on it'll smear and foam
phalanxausage
That's near my office. I'll keep an eye out for this truck.
tinydog
Howdy, Charlottean.
phalanxausage
Howdy! I went to the HT where this was taken after work. The truck was gone.
Psychosdonotexplodewhensunlighthitthem
Of course it's NC and of course he's got the "first in freedom" plate instead of "first in flight" a real winner.
ConsumingHate
Nicer than me....i work retail, i have a tow company programmed in my phone for people lile that and untaggrd cars in handicap spots.
LuciusNeedful
So, and I'm sure there is much to dissect, but if you were to put a shopping cart in the truck bed, you, assuming no damage to the vehicle, would not have committed a crime, as you did not remove it from the property and have articulable reason that you did not intend for it to be removed. They however in physical possession of technically stolen goods over $200 would be guilty of grand larceny.
DJOldguy
This was worth a note on the windscreen, written with a lug wrench, I would say, but I'm not the kind of person who goes around doing such things. I leave that sort of shit to MAGAts and other Trumpers. What I might say is something like, "This guy is obviously a Biden supporter" then let them sort it out their own way.
ArcanisTheOmnipotent
Do your best to get him towed. Make his inconvenience an inconvenience for him
Cranbananarama
So, is that two tickets for double parking?
IdaLiza
I showed up at work today and all the parking lines were covered in a light snow. I made my best guess. When I came outside, the snow had melted and I was … the a-hole. Unintentional, but still …
tinydog
That used to happen to me when I lived in western New York.
gx67
I usually give a pass on snow days, especially if there's some sign of an attempt to line up or there's signs of there being snow when the car got there, so you're in the clear!
nimeton0
One possible solution...
SomebodyalreadytookMyPants
based on the melting snow it's entirely possible they parked there when the stall lines were obsucred so they could open the store at 4am. and after a day of putting up with retail shoppers they come out to this?
WellWellWellLookWhoItIs
Employees generally aren’t allowed to park that close to the store for their shift.
SomebodyalreadytookMyPants
if you're opening and it snowed the night before you can park wherever tf you want. Guessing you never worked retail in a small town
WellWellWellLookWhoItIs
Worked retail, though. And that lot looks like it’s been clear long enough they could have come out and moved their truck if the scenario you really want to have been true was.
SomebodyalreadytookMyPants
I'm talking about the picture of the car with snow still on the ground and the carts around it. the truck in the orignal post is driven by an asshole

ballsoutflyer

StillNotYouTube
but the cart thing is on the right so they aren't blocking any lanes?
mrsdowneyjr
I have to say I've been in parking lots where big trucks squeeze into one spot which takes up the two on either side and either hang their rears into traffic or nudge over the line. Even parked correctly they take up 4 spaces
NinjaBauer
I've never seen people park like this at the Costco near me, where their parking spaces are large enough. I think you make a good point here.
mrsdowneyjr
I live in a smaller city in Ohio and the older parking spaces are too small for the tiny-dick trucks but the Walmart (where they're native) fit just right.
unluckyandbored
Well then perhaps they should consider driving a vehicle that doesn't advertise to the world how tiny their dick is.
tinydog
Plenty of those around here, but this truck is just medium size. Probably no bigger footprint than a large sedan.
mrsdowneyjr
Agreed
FeloniousMonk13
Get a Schrader valve tool from autozone, like $3, and you can quickly let all the air out of all 4 tires.
Snooj
Seems a little overboard for letting the punishment fit the crime.
michaelpaice2
My thoughts, too. But keep the valve cores in case the driver has a pump.
onlyhalfghost
let the air out of three, watch them do it to the fourth themselves and report the insurance fraud.
jridley
I don't understand why he would do the fourth, or why this would be insurance fraud. I'd just call AAA and have them inflate my tires. Actually I carry a compressor in my truck and I'd just take 20 minutes to inflate them myself, but you know what I mean.
onlyhalfghost
it's a joke about old advice with *slashing* tires.
tinydog
Alas, letting the air out of someone's tires is illegal.
TheBlueMuppet
They don't own the air!
whatsisname
Only illegal if you get caught.
ballsoutflyer
If we've learned anything these past few years, we only have to worry about getting caught... and if we do, we can delay delay delay.
Ellimem
Oh no. Whatever shall we do if something illegal happened to a cunt?
jridley
Not evil enough. Get valve caps, superglue BBs into the ends of them. Replace one of his caps with one of these special caps. It'll take hours for the air to leak out. He'll just think he has a slow leak. Will have to fill his tires multiple times until he gets to the tire shop.
TorPemBoy
This is have to try.
FeloniousMonk13

If you're ever going to leave a note just leave one that says, "I'm sorry I scratched your car. I didn't mean to but I have no money. I'm sorry". They'll spend a lot of time looking for that scratch and worrying about the parking in the future.
NeverEnoughFoxes
GreenGaeasSon
If you are extra cranky, leave a note that says "Hey, man. I just saw someone pour some shit into your gas tank. Just thought you'd want to know."
ThatCanadianViking
"I bumped your car and somebody seen me so im leaving this note to make it look like im giving you my info. Cheers"
sirava
I've actually spent too much time thinking about this. In this version they get to feel genuinely angry that someone wronged them and they get to keep that external blame. My version with the apology and excuse of no money will leave them a bit more impotent. You gotta work the psychology.
Ellimem
Or, you just scratch their car and leave a note telling them why you did it.
ThatCanadianViking
But thats illegal
Userlivewire
They’ll find a preexisting gouge and then come find you to fix it.
Jimbo64
*I* would never do it but I like hearing about people who ziptie shopping carts to the door handles.
hybridjamaican
I mean its a truck, you can put a couple long zip ties on the axle and most will go to a shop to figure out what that noise is...or, if your car is small enough just squeeze in right beside the driver's door
redwolf2k
sirava
Saving that.
pareidoliaperson
FALSE. Bitches like that will throw a tantrum will be looking for the person who did. Not finding the scratch. Coz they'll find some bs scratch (whether it's there or not) and will be looking into cameras, paint colour, footprints, harass the parking security probably, crumbs trails, etc. etc.
Kyrorayne
I put little rocks in the air stem of the tires so that they go flat without damage. It inconveniences them as much as others
SedatedSl0th
So. TIL satan is an imigurian.

judyblue
Or "I'm not sorry I scratched your car. You totally deserve it. Good luck not being a dick in the future."
Aesonique
I like to put a small stone under the cap on the valve. It makes a very slow leak that's almost impossible to find.
Jewdakris
I like to carry extra screws and plastic connectors in my car and I leave that with the note and tell them to have fun finding it
airbreather
You might as well write “sorry for scratching your truck but I couldn’t help it, you parked like an a$$—-.”
Then he’ll think twice about doing it next time, in addition to searching for the nonexistent scratch… which is a tough of genius, BTW.
airbreather
Ack, *TOUCH.

That's why some of these idiots park like this in the first place. They are worried about scratches and dents.
WolfPacker
I have friend who admits that years ago he used to take up two spots when parking, until an insurance agent informed him that if his car managed to get scratched/dinged/dented while parked in such a manner & insurance found out they wouldn’t cover him.
HamburgerWelper
If they’re doing it anyway, might as well inconvenience them the way they do others. It’s harmless and if anything, they’ll just start parking farther like they should if they’re that scared of scratches.
myotheralt
Well, there's empty spaces on the far end of the lot. Sometimes
WolfPacker
That’s what I do. If I can’t find an end space I try to park as far out as I can. I admit I’m particular about my car, but I try not to be a complete asshole about it.
Izlingar
Only 4 spaces? Rookie!

But then they have to walk and they are far too important to do that.

This is a good picture with a nice clear view of the vehicle and license plate of someone highly ILLEGALLY PARKED. You might consider reporting them, while citing Charlotte City Ordinance Sec. 14-216. - Illegal parking (a)(7). . . Slashenaar
(*Fuck that guy, but I don't think the cops will help.) Hmmmm, the way I read this I think A7 is in the public parking section, not offstreet, which is a separate section as indicated in the footnotes and highlighted in 14-221 specifying special inclusion of non-public parking.
thatsmeinanutshell
You might be right. Admittedly this was a 5min search on my phone, but I (without a deep dive) didn’t see where it explicitly states it’s not included. My immediate thought process was that the city determines the number and size of parking spaces that specific lot must include, based on location, sf, and occupancy types. Law enforcement definitely can cite someone for parking in HC spaces or fire lines on that same property. Worse case, OP asks if he can report it and law enforcement says no.
thatsmeinanutshell
@Slashenaar- thanks for giving this another set of eyes.
detectivekagami
Generally speaking, the police don’t have qualms (nor jurisdiction) on company-owned parking lots, which these strip/square malls typically are. I ponder the gall to park like that, I really don’t understand it, but there’s not much legal grounds/bother unless someone DOES actually harm the vehicle.
ProfessorDumbass
Afaik ...in Australia shopping centre parking lots are designed for public parking and have the same laws applied to them. Someone in the middle of a field driving drunk and shooting at trees is fine and dandy....but they would be arrested for driving drunk and shooting at trees in any strip mall. Designated public place, designated public laws.
mouseasw
I mean, they get a ticket with solid evidence handed to them on a silver platter, why wouldn't they write that ticket?
Slashenaar
That's the thing, it's a private parking lot so I don't think there's a ticket to write, A7 seems to refer to street parking. Whichever store owns the lot could have the truck towed probably, but the city has to own/be leasing/using/easementing the land for this law to be applied. To be clear I'm guessing and would love a solid answer so I can know whether to report these or not
armagetz
How you know this is even charlotte?

Isn't this private property? There's no legal remedy for that up here in Ontario. Couldn't even tow it unless it's spelled out somewhere in signage that this action will get you towed. Same as signs warning of towing after a certain time of day.
Madmooch
I heard if it's private property, you can just report your vehicle stolen. Then it's the polices problem
sparmek
Same in the US. It would be up to the property owner/business. Most don't want to do anything in this case since it would piss off their customers.
DerpMeister
It's the almost the same in Germany. I once returned to the parking spot that I had rented for years to find someone else's car in it. I had to park really far away and when it was still there the next day, I called the police. The said since it's on private property, they can't do anything. Since I got legal insurance, I called their hotline and talked to a lawyer. He said I can have it towed on my own costs and would then have to try to get my money back from the car owner by civil suit.
Dstar99a
I’m pretty sure you can get in trouble for posting the license plate number. You should remove this and repost it with the numbers blurred out. You know. How would you feel if someone posted your plate numbers (that can be used to find your address) online for thousands of internet trolls on social media to see. Also posted in a negative impression for the public. Pretty sure doxxing is illegal.
TheFishFace
Depends what mood the mods are in. But posting a picture of someone illegally parked is not going to be illegal pretty much anywhere - how many people post pics with cars in the background, some of which are doing something illegal?
Dstar99a
It has nothing to do with what the vehicle is doing. It has everything to do with what the picture is showing. How does posting your cell phone number online to strangers sound to you? I'll pass.
TheFishFace
If it had nothing to do with what the vehicle is doing, are you saying it is illegal and against tos to post any picture of a car with its number plate visible? Seems like even more nonsense. If I post my phone number it connects the number *with me*, at least my online identity, which is far more information than you get from a photo of a car not belonging to the poster, or a phone number not belonging to the poster.
pullingsixty
I think you want to direct this comment to OP. It's not my post.
Dstar99a
Probably. Must have hit wrong reply. Anyway @op read above
