Mark Zuckerberg seen wearing $2M watch while announcing the layoff of 8,000 employees.

MV Edit - Oligarch bad - DIY artist good. More details here: https://imgur.com/gallery/its-been-crazy-ride-meeting-so-many-new-readers-N37NNcK

How can a watch even possibly cost that much?

God he's such a dork-ass loser.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a Timex Ironman that's been running since the 80s. Needs a new battery every 7 or 8 years.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it needs a special kind of stupid to pay 2 million for a wristwatch. No, it is stupid, no amount of "collectors" or other stupid bullshit applies here when we are talking about an item worth tens of thousands going for millions.

Works for items that cannot be replicated anymore because the master that made them is dead or something, not for this.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's really silly is that it's not a good watch - it's face is too busy for it's thin hands, making them more difficult to see than they should be.

There are people who have too much money.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Zionist piece of shit.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

for 2M$, the manufacturer could have included some numbers...

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In Zucc's world, it's always "fuck you" o'clock

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuck the fact that 2 million dollar watches exist at all btw

1 week ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Doesn't even seem to have any complications?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

20 people could have had a $100k salary for a year for the price of that watch. Families fed, rent and bills paid for that.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Wishing that they all get kirked for Christmas.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hoping to take the edge off with the plain black, probably $5000 t-shirt

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yeah, people assume these casual clothes are normal shirts and pants, but they're designer clothes for the rich.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He could sell 0.001% of his wealth to pay 40 people $50k a year.

All time shitbag that had his $300m mega yacht arrive in Seattle on the same day his company announced 1,400 layoffs across Washington state. https://www.geekwire.com/2026/photos-mark-zuckerbergs-superyacht-arrives-in-seattle-the-same-day-meta-discloses-1400-local-job-cuts/

No BBQ sauce on the shelf this time ?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is there a reason that a $2M watch even exists??

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought it was more like 900k

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It’s powered by bitcoins, so the value of the watch on any given day can fluctuate wildly.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Knowing how fucked up this world is he probably got it for free. It's so annoying how much rich people get for fee.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gotta remember, too, that nothing like this costs what the sell it for, so makers/manufacturers didn't lose nearly as much by handing it off for marketing purposes.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Even if he paid for it, he didn’t notice. His net worth right now is about $222B. Two million is 1/5 of 1/100 of 1/222 of what he has. It’s the equivalent of someone with $222,000 spending $2 on a watch.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

as someone with closer to $2,220, spending $2 on a watch seems like a good fun harmless deal. Crazy to think that'd be the equivalent of a person with $222,000 spending just two cents on a watch.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For equivalent of a person having a net worth of around $500,000, that'd be akin to spending around $4 (four dollars) on a watch

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How could anyone possibly justify $2mil on a fucking watch? The rich are looking juicer and more delicious by the day!

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

The ridiculous price is part of the point. Balenciaga is now selling literally a plastic shopping bag for $1800. Others seeing that brand on a 5 cent bag and knowing that you spent $1800 on it is the point. It signals that you have so much money you can just fucking set fire to it and laugh.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 million for him is about 2 bucks for you or me.

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What do you mean justify? For him that's literally like saying "how could you justify A WHOLE CUP OF SAND for this?" He has so much it's stopped being significant to him. The only thing he asks himself before a purchase is "Will this make me poor?"

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I mean, he could have chosen to use that money to feed a bunch of people or send a bunch of kids to college, but he used it to buy an obsolete piece of jewelry instead as a status symbol. Can't justify that level of selfishness.

I wonder why an android needs a watch to begin with? Shouldn't his internal chronometer be more precise?

1 week ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

That’s for when he changes batteries and needs set the time in the bios again.

1 week ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Ah but it is a known custom that human enjoy chronometers on the area of the subject body commonly referred to as the wrist so to better blend within this flesh environment the Zuckerbot is trained use adaptive camouflage.

1 week ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I bet that watch doesn't keep time any better than my smartphone does.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It literally can't. Your smartphone uses the internet and cellular towers to sync to the most accurate clocks in the world, multiple times a day. No watch in the world without external time sync capability can remain accurate indefinitely.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Q.E.D.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am gainfully employed but need spine surgery, for which the recovery time is about 6 months. I have short term disability insurance, and that covers 60% of my wages after a 2 week "sorry about your luck" period of no pay at all. With this, I come about $3000 short of paying my bills for that time. I may not be able to get the surgery because of this.

That is a $2 Million watch. $2 million.

Crime is looking like a better option every day.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and it's ugly as fuck

1 week ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

don't hate the watch cause of the dushbag wearing it. though a 2mill watch is excessive.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah! plus the watch is awful

1 week ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Any time piece you can't read at glance is not useful. They put clearly labeled numbers on these things for a reason.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I think he goes by he, not it.

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I dunno man. I think those kinds of complexity buried in the guts of the watch reminds me of myst a little bit. I don't have a beef with a dude making bank of making rich idiots pay a lot for a timepiece. Zuck is a huge asshole though. He can go fuck himself.

I have a G-Shock that's lasted 10 years. Longest lasting watch I ever had.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got mine $5 at Walmart. Tells the time like any other watch. Not well though.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess 2 mill is like $30 to the zucc

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My g-shock cost me $50. It'll outlast me.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mine was more like $28 - because I bought it 30 years ago and it's still working fine. Though I switched to a Timex Indiglo about 10 years back because the display is SO much better at night. I put the 2nd battery in the Timex last year.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've heard even Bill Gates wears a $50 Casio Duro.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

because gates, asshole as he *was* (from what little I know he started working toward and donating to charity) did never need a shiny toy to compensate anything.
He was an asshole, he knew it and he owned to it. One of his quote was about how comunity developers did damage the market for the "professional developers". His system was as costly as it was good. Until he was the head you had to crack windows because you couldnt afford it, not because it had a thousand of spyreware out of the pack.>

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He was as much an asshole as much as he was good, you could see it from how he did go around buying smaller software developement house, stealing whatever was good in their products and then closing em down, firing everyone.
He was that much of an asshole, yes, but he never had to compensate for anything at least. That's more than you could say for zucchy.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I should probably just use Offerup exclusively

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Marketplace is 85% of the reason I still have an account. The other 15% is keeping contact with people, only because it is the social media I have with people I have met IRL.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd argue it's the only social media you have outside of messenger apps. The rest are interactive entertainment apps.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same. I never post anything on there. I keep in touch with a couple people I grew up with on there

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He's a POS, but in case anyone else wonders how they try to justify that price tag: "a Greubel Forsey Hand Made 1 watch, featuring a distinctive white gold case and a manual winding tourbillon movement. This timepiece is renowned for its intense craftsmanship, with approximately 95% of its components produced using hand-operated tools. It takes roughly 6,000 hours to construct a single watch, resulting in a production volume of only 2 to 3 units per year."

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

And then they sell it to human trash and ruin their brand

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The perfect build to rip off his wrist and shove up his ass.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

You could just say “greed.” It’s faster.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And, in the end, pointless.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So its unecessarily complicated

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Well yeah, ever since the advent of the digital watch, mechanical watches have been obsolete and thus, unnecessarily complicated. They're jewelry and "luxury" items now which is just a whole different thing.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A tourbillon is a very complicated device for improving the accuracy of pocket watches, it is mostly surfluous on a wristwatch.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And yes, ofc all mechanical movements are obsolete.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

600 days of labor is not even remotely close to that amount of money in basically any other profession. It's propped up as a status symbol, let's not kid ourselves.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

When I got my car repaired last week, they told me it would be a $195 labor charge for the 1-hour investigation if I chose not to pursue the repairs after they investigated. 6,000 hours @ $195/hr would be like $1.2M, so idk. I'm not going to pretend like I have any clues about watchmaking or labor costs, just thought it was a fun comparison point.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That calculation only works assuming that there's only one person involved in the investigation, and that there's no premium being applied for a very short job that interrupts their existing work.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same energy as the folks who hate bezos but turn around and use amazon the same day

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s easy. Because 15 years ago they built you dependence on the platform, it’s the same thing they’re doing now with AI. Playing the long con, instead of the short term con.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I live quite isolated because I refused to use Facebook, Whatsapp and all other social media plattforms when they were new, due to data mining.
They laughed about me... I became friends with nature instead, but I still feel lonely. I hope people come back some day.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's really simple. They are designed to be addictive and very difficult to quit. They are like cigarettes. You KNOW it's bad for you but.... Just one more scroll

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I mean, social media is primarily a way to connect – not just to strangers, but friends too. It's not inherently evil, it's just being constantly used for evil. So like, asking people to jump off social media is *also* asking them to disconnect from friends.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

No, social media is primarily a way to NOT connect. I connected with my friends before social media. Now, my friends post on social media, and there is NO CONNECTION unless we're directly taking in person or chatting through instant messaging. Social media allows you to remain disconnected but aware. Social media is explicitly a stage of separation. Nobody needs social media to tell all of their friends about their life, they need social media to do it without connecting to anyone individually.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Social media WAS primarily a way to connect. It isn't any more. It's been enshittificated, and capitalism'd into a serotonin microdosing, personal data harvesting platform.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It never was. If you wanted to connect with a friend, you used to disk their number, call them, direct message, whatever. Social media allows you to offload connecting and talking to a public facing wall which notifies others that you've posted if they're following you. You don't tell your friends that you enjoyed a movie, you tell the public that you enjoyed a movie and your friends become notified that you posted. They leave a public message for you for later. Social media does literally 1/

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

... absolutely nothing to help A (one) Person connect to Another (singular) Person which can't be accomplished via direct message. Social media was designed to allow you to keep track of the people you AREN'T connecting with, and everyone replaced personal connection with it, because it's easier and provides more endorphins more quickly. That's it,

Meta owns WhatsApp and there are quite a few Hispanic people that I work with that use it to message people in their home country. This was years ago but still sees heavy usage

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not Hispanic, but can confirm I use WhatsApp when talking to my mom and dad, especially when they are not in the country

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're baffled why people use Meta products, I'm baffled why you're confirming that people use meta products. We know they use it, were baffled as to WHY. And don't tell me it's too talk to others. Telegram does that, email, SMS on the literal phone you're using for the fucking apps. There are a thousand ways to communicate which don't use Meta platforms.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Whatsapp was one of, if not the biggest, messaging app worldwide before facebook bought it. It's end to end encryption at the time made it ideal for people under restrictive regimes and allowed free international messaging at a time you paid for each text. Most people that use it probably don't even realize it's owned by facebook.

thats like Silicon Valley's one branding rule: you have to adhere to this jean-wearing, "we're not your grandad's oligarchs" mythos that they've been using since the 80's to convince the public that theyre not stuffy misers like all those old Scrooges back east. they're world changers, visionaries, prophets. it'd be laughable if so many people didn't still buy it.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Genuine curiosity, does pointing this out make anything better? Or does it just normalize it further? Like subduing our emotions around this seems to just further some kind of acceptance of the behavior. What is the intent or attempt to point this out?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have we done the math yet? Can he literally dive into a bank vault full of gold coins like Scrooge McDuck?

1 week ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Remember reading somewhere that all the gold we've mined in the world would only be enough to fill 3 olympic-sized swimming pools. So, regardless of what is net worth might be, I don't think he'll PHYSICALLY be able to turn his worth into that much gold.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My 1965 Encyclopedia showed a cube about 49' square. I'm sure we have mined a bit more.

He has enough to make a solid brick of gold about 2 meters by 2 meters and 25 meters long... This is a lane in a pool...

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Keep in mind that randomly tossed loose coins would be around 40% empty space between coins, so he has almost enough for two lanes!

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now we know what he is striving for... An Olympic pool filled with solid gold or at least gold coin.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and random coins have a much lower "dollars per volume" thing then straight gold

Oh I was assuming gold coins, not nickels and dimes and stuff. I’m sure he has enough money for a swimming pool full of American pocket change.
