#13 This reminds me of another meme. "I thought I was good at avoiding sickness, until I had kids. Turns out I was just good at avoiding the kind of people who sneeze directly into your eyeballs while telling you a story."
rudejohn
Yep, I was sick roughly twice in 15 years before I had kids - and very judgmental towards all my coworkers with kids who were "always sick". I have been significantly sick 2-3 times every year since having kids. It turns out that having humans in your house who slobber, cough, and sneeze all over you and whose fluids you need to clean up regularly makes it REALLY tough to avoid catching the various plagues they bring home from school / day care.

#7 I did that railroad crossing jump accidentally once. Late at night. Driving about 60 in a 30 late at night, way before navigation, driving up to a set of road signs bunched on the same sign in a 4x4 grid, I'm looking intently at them for the roads I need and miss the fact that those signs are right next to a very steep RR crossing, that also has a 90 degree turn at the bottom. I crest that thing - airborn - and then I see the other side where a cop is making that turn, who I will soon hit.
xxPaulCPxx
So while the Dukes of Hazzard jump freeze while the narrator talks about their predicament plays, I see the cop driving looking up at me, wide eyed. I landed like an airliner, tires smoking on the brakes as they screech - screech as I bounce. The temporary high traction of the bounces allows me to temporarily alter the trajectory of this meteor and miss the squad car and barely make the turn before impact. Soooo... that happened... I was just about to keep driving when the cherries lit up. /2
xxPaulCPxx
Quite obviously, I was in the wrong... so I leaned into it. I got myself hyperventilating and when the cop came to my window I was like "ARE YOU OK!?! WE COULD HAVE DIED BACK THERE!!! I WAS READING THAT CRAZY SIGN AND I DIDN'T SEE THE CROSSING AND OH MY GO I COULD HAVE KILLED YOU OH GOD I'M SO SORRY!!!" Which was all true, but this was not the time to play cool about it. I was just some lost out of town numbnutz who accidentally discovered the local thrill ride.
No ticket.

#23 people who don't let their dogs on the couch are not the kind of people I want in my life. Like why did you even get a dog?
rudejohn
I'm on board. My dogs LOVE the couches and TV watching cuddles are the best. But there are dogs-in-the-bed people and that's just a step I cannot fathom.

actually it was inspired by a japanese woman that Phil worked with being unable to say the word "studio"

MagnumRadhard
I heard it was a place holder for a word he wanted to add but said fuck it.
Revicus
I think that's correct. Per VH1 Storytellers in 1997: "Collins has said that he "improvised" the lyrics. Collins was playing around with a drum machine, and the lyric "su-sussudio" was what came out of his mouth. "So I kinda knew I had to find something else for that word, then I went back and tried to find another word that scanned as well as 'sussudio,' and I couldn't find one, so I went back to 'sussudio'", Collins said."
MagnumRadhard

#17 mine is tattooed... so I have an excuse.
apairofpetducks
Out of curiosity, how bad did that hurt? I have a bunch and hands down the worst was the band around my ankle, which is really surprising since I thought my inner upper thigh or collarbones/upper chest would be the most painful. How close to the actual sphincter skin does it get?
Also these are deeply personal questions so feel free to tell me to fuck off :)

Do a Google search for "lotus flower butthole tattoo"-----> it's the top image search. My reddit burner-post shall answer all........... allegedly........ Possibly.......

The linework one posted by prince_artandink on IG? Looks great! I didn't find any related reddit post but the internet is kind of a useless shithole now so I dunno lol

The sniper CAPTCHA is clever as it can be used to detect if a user is Russian. Russians will check the top row only, while non-Russians will check the bottom two rows.

That is the kill zone of the claymore mine, so believe it or not, no snipers there.
ArcaneEyes
That was a good laugh, thank you
jeejeejerrycotton
(For those not in the know: there's was and still is a persistent myth among Russians that Finnish snipers roosted in nests built into treetops because they couldn't spot them. Building a sniper's nest up a tree is an extremely stupid and non-workable tactic, and there is zero evidence for it ever having happened. Finns simply used a really advanced camouflage technology: white suits. Kinda invisible when you're lying in a snowdrift.)
habslove
thanks my friend didnt get it

I knew a guy that went bowhunting like that. Stopped after experiencing a bear that didn't go down after the first arrow. Motherfucker was on its way up the tree when he finally got the second one away.
SilverNightwing
Why the fuck would you see a bear and hit it with a bow? Even aside from hunting, that's just fucking stupid.
IdiotSavantTinker
I went bow hunting like that once... no bears, but I did fall out of the tree. Most of the bowhunting I've done was for rabbits, though. That doesn't involve a tree stand or camo, one just has to be a decent shot.
jeejeejerrycotton
Chuckling at the camo that makes him more visible than if he just wore regular clothes.
IdiotSavantTinker
Yeah it's not the best example for camouflage. But he's also hiding from something that doesn't see the same colors we do, and you're looking at him from the height of the treestand, instead of from the ground.
IdiotSavantTinker
randomwalrus
Wearing camo is just to impress other hunters. Real hunters wear bright orange, so as to not get shot.
IdiotSavantTinker
The last time I went bowhunting I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. And an orange hat.
jeejeejerrycotton
Or run over by vehicles.
vegivamp
Warning: not effective on dick Cheney.
Navrodel
Fun fact - most things you're hunting can't tell the difference between orange, green, and brown very easily, which is why a tiger blends in so well despite seeming so obviously not-forest-colored to us.
Wear the neon orange: The deer won't see you much better, but the other people with rifles will, and it'll help prevent accidents.
