We've played with it for over 15yrs; but trying to go lifestyle, my longest been about 25-28 days. The 'twins' get painfully sore & start swelling around the 3 week mark, and it hurts to walk.
I've tried metal, plastic, resin/rubber - trying to see if adjustments to weight & flexibility/shape of the base ring helped, but so far it hasn't worked.
...so either I'm a wuss, or just not built correctly for ball-trap devices to work as intended. (and i'm too short for tube-style belts 🤷)

Welllll, HRT has tremendously helped shrink all my bits. So everything fits really well. I have a metal inverted cage with a 2 inch inversion funnel that the head sits in, but the shaft skin folds over as it pushes it back inside you, with a 7" urethra tube and a elastic band to help keep it tight and comfy.
Silicone lube to keeps things slick alongside no hair. If flying I get put in an identical plastic one.

It's been so long I literally feel wrong if I don't have it on.
Like it's more natural to have it on and in, than have it off and the tube out. Plus being trans MtF it really enforces sitting to pee, wiping, proper tucking, hygiene, stuff like that.

Oh of course. It comes off routinely for cleaning and making sure there's no sores from rubbing or being tight. If the "boys" start showing signs of water retention swelling it gets removed entirely until things calm down.
Or just sometimes my partner and our mutual "activities" friend both agree that I can just plain be out for a few days if they want.
There's always yellow level and red level safe words so if something is suddenly REALLY wrong red level gets used, all stop, cage off.
