I once saw a power washer that had an "animal" setting that used some sort of internal water brake to raise the water temperature by turning pump energy into heat and significantly reduce the pressure so it was safe for washing animals. Wasn't anything like shower warm, more like "tolerable" and I don't know if it was a feature that still exists on power washers.

If the ears are just turned back but still upright, i'm not worried, the horse is just listening. It's when they are pinned back and laying flat that the intrusive thoughts have already won and it's a good idea to give lots of space cuz the pissed off pony is pissed lol
Yep! I was extremely privileged and fortunate to grow up with horses. Dad was a farrier, so of course we had several. Horses are awesome and so intelligent. Even though the original comment was slightly wrong, if youre unfamiliar with horse behavior and their cues, never hurts to be overly cautious and back away if their ears are turned back.
Strong but quite gentle animals once bonded and trained. I used to go jump on mine bareback and read a book while he grazed :)
