Don't look now, Donny, but I'm pretty sure Steven had more people in his audience for this episode than you had for your entire parade, military and staff included.
No one has ever accused frump of being a brainiac (I'm fairly certain about that), but it takes a special kind of stupid to go against a word smith like Stephen Colbert.
Trump looked like a bumbling moron even compared to Hillary, who is not known for being some witty orator, when onstage together during debates. Hillary of course is still smart, and had enough good shots at Trump, but yea, even Hillary wouldn't hold a candle against a good comedian like Colbert. With Trump, we're not talking minor leagues vs big leagues, we're talking baby's first ball versus elite MLB pros.
It's not reasonable to put the sins of people's fathers on them. Many people have horrible fathers and are much better people themselves. I'm not saying Trump couldn't have been influenced by this, but he had a whole lifetime to be a better person and he only ever got worse.
True, but everything the sin learned from his father. Real estate, bigotry, slumlording. This isnt a case if sins if the father. Its a demonstration if generationally bigotry and bad ideas past on.
It's almost like you didn't understand the context of my post like an idiot. Because the people we need to rely on to stop Trump aren't smart enough to do so.
Can you imagine if Craig Ferguson had gotten the show like he was supposed to? They’d probably be trying to deport him, even though he’s been a full fledged citizen for 17 years.

Cancelling Colbert has made him an icon forever. Doesn’t Trump know that when you victimize someone who speaks what people feel you memorialize them in the hearts of their followers for eternity? He should know how cult behavior works. Colbert has his own “cult” now. Everything this administration does to try and stop Americans is just making them dig their heels in deeper. Get your popcorn ready-this is gonna be a long show.
I was a bit surprised Kimmel wasn't first, considering how much T posts about him... Kimmel is on summer vacation right now, has guest hosts, and T has the attention span of a fruit fly.
Don't fall for distractions. ABC is part of Disney, a target for MAGA for quite some time now. Loathed by T, and he's trying to throw his dictatorial weight around. You just saw he's already mentioned Kimmel, so he's on the radar. The pending merger was just an excuse to make this happen. Kimmel, SNL, and many others are on T's list. Don't pretend they're not.
Yeah I am sure they are, I am just saying Disney / ABC is not trying to get government approval for a merger, so Trump doesn't have as much leverage over them as he had on Paramount / CBS. Paramount did his bidding to get their merger approved.
Companies as large a Disney or NBC always need government approval for various things. He'll use whatever leverage he can, because no one ridicules the dictator!
And I hope he spends the ENTIRE first episode dedicated to Donald Trump and mocking EVERYTHING he has ever said or done showing everyone what a joke he is.

Good. I hope it is something new, cuz Colbert's Late Night show paled in comparison to the wit and impact that the Colbert Show had. Was a huge step down.

The idea isn’t to make a profit, it’s to silence dissent… except this put a spotlight on it, and network TV has been slowly dying since streaming became a thing
The idea is still to make profit. But it's to profit by wringing every last dollar out of what's already been created through streaming services. Creating anything new or of value that risks offending the great orange snowflake is right out.
The payoff doesn’t come from the company, the payoff comes from keeping the populace from dissenting.
Do enough of that and you could, for example, raise taxes on working class Americans by $300,000,000,000, funnel the proceeds to lucrative government contracts, and have the mainstream media regurgitate a press release as though it signifies a victory.
I really don't follow your train of thought. The Paramount thing is pure mergers and acquisition, capitalism, consolidation, whatever you want to call it. I don't understand how that deal is keeping people from dissenting
