Lots of water pools and a bunch of places to die but every year some kids die or get seriously injured. Been happening for 40 years and still goes on. I mean let's make a short list of why that was fucking dumb. Ignores safety railing. Putting people below at risk. Putting rescue workers at risk if he got hurt and they have to retrieve him. My guy could have crazy skills but the diff is he could have easily slipped or hit his foot on the railing and that's it. He lands on people below. Don't get me wrong great jump and if he did it in a better spot I'd be clapping.

Fortunately I only ended up breaking my tail bone but it could have been so much worse. But let me tell you, when you break your ass it just hurts. Its pure pain and misery for weeks. He managed to get out of a dishonorable discharge by going off-base, getting drunk, and pissing off some people who tossed him off an overpass. That broken spine and permanent wheelchair set him up for, "other-than-honorable, medical" instead of dishonorable. ->
1) Of course even with that horrible example, which was still being told to new airmen in that unit 20 years later, Offutt AFB ("apparently") still has a pretty bad issue with lower-ranking enlisted and drinking. Not even exaggerating on that guy still being used as an example. One of the rare times I actually had to deliver someone's household goods for my job (normally work warehouse) the guy who I was delivering out was working for the same agency on-base and recognized the story.
2) Kinda makes me wonder if they also still talk about the other airman who got a "don't bother re-upping; you're out after this term" for tunneling through his agency's (the same as broke-back airman's) firewall just to "chat" with his (IIRC under-age) girlfriend while on-duty. That's not even getting to the guy who was supposed to show me around on base and help get me situated getting booted within a month of my arrival for his third offense of under-age drinking... >_<
I hope you've shared this with your family, and I hope they agree. Hospitals will almost always side with the living, non-coma family instead of the person likely to die. At least, that's how it was years ago when I researched this for my dad.
Get a redundancy for that identifying tattoo elsewhere on your body. What happens if you fall out of a moving vehicle and road rash erases it? They'll be stuck with just fingerprints, dental records, DNA, any ID in your wallet, and people who know you.

When I was a senior myself my grandmother bought his modified van to help him out since he was moving cross country. I helped her remove his mods like the hand throttle above the steering wheel. I never jumped into those falls again.
