Get medicated, idiot.

Come get your dinner, gosh

This makes me miss my old dog. Such a good boi. He would swallow the medicine, then expect a treat.

Did you find this while looking for the latest political news and thus Googling "orange ass"

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 19

As someone who is equally disgusted and terrified by the current admin, we can just let ONE post go by without mentioning Cheeto Mussolini.

Yeah but you gotta admit, "orange ass", the jokes write themselves at that point

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's a joke in here about the orange tricking people into eating horse dewormer

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Let us know when you find it.

Donkeys are amazing. Sadly too many donkeys are mistreated around the world

Haha what a jackass!

Asses are so cute

Perfect timing on deploying the meds too 👌

it's orange flavor

Now he has a taste for orange we can send him to Washington

I’m not sure I’m willing to subject a poor innocent animal to that. But if they are willing, I would be inclined to pay for some of the best care they can have for the rest of their life.

You know I'm not sure I've ever seen orange flavored horse goop. Most of it seems to be apple flavored. Not sure why.

I know a Dog that would eat the treat, swallow, and then open it's mouth and you'd watch the medicine just slide out of it's open maw, then he'd sit there all proud.

"I know the part that's not food. I'm very smart. Another, please."

I love that guy

You should really check out the other videos on his ASMR channel

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Honestly, it should taste good because if it does they will be more inclined to cooperate. We can stop being the bad taste aliens to them.

Most medicines are alkaloid, therefore bitter. That's why the flavourings are so sweet they taste awful

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It should be so obvious. I get something delicious and, unbeknownst to me, I am healthier and/or more protected than before I ate the delicious thing. Magic

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They do, yet horses are little shits who spook because a leaf fell in Nicaragua; having a syringe thrust into their mouth is a recipe for the medicine to end up on the floor

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You'd think. My kid refuses to take medicine and it's literally sugar flavored. I don't buy the nasty cherry stuff.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It tastes great. It's sweet like an apple hard candy. I used to vet tech and I've gotten it in my mouth from horse shenanigans.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Equest (Moxidectin) is awfully bitter for my taste, though.

It is that to protect the kids argument in case they get ahold of it. Life made that much harder for the one bad scenario. When you should just keep it locked away if you have kids or animals.

Explain amoxicillin then. When I was a kid I craved the bubble gum juice!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Some medicines taste less bad, and are easier to disguise. When I had my wisdom teeth removed as a teenager, I didn't think I'd be able to swallow the giant penicillin tablets, so I asked my mom to crush it up and mix it into a full cup of apple sauce. I didn't realize it would taste like mold - choked down every bite of it. The next couple doses I only mixed it with a single spoonful, so it was all down in one go!

As an adult I still request the liquid bubblegum antibiotic that's intended for children. I hate taking tablets and I have free will

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nah, it's just that the medicine itself tends to be bitter or otherwise offputting and it can be concealed only so much. Some dog and cat medicine come fish/meat flavored but many pets still spit them out.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's this. Turns out a lot of the active ingredients just don't taste good. No matter how much good tasting stuff you add, the bad taste is still there. It can't be removed.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Unless you coat it in sugar like Sudafed.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. We are all hardwired to hate them because unless you know it's right kind of dose in right kind of time, those same chemicals could be poison.

The pills I use to give my cousin's dog while dog sitting were beef flavored. :D

1 year ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

What about the pills you gave while standing?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

what?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My aunt's dog is so easy to dog-sit and give pills to because she just eats EVERYTHING. She's so food motivated she'll eat anything you give her with a sing-song voice.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their other dog got a tiny green pill that they would seemingly swallow but I would sometimes find in their pet bed. He was kind of devious in other ways, so I'm certain he was hiding it and spitting it out later.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you try one?

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

No.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The ones the vet gives me are "supposedly" beef flavored, but my dog never wanted to touch them, and they still smell pretty medicine-like to me. I just have to shove it down her throat and then offer a treat.

1 year ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

What I do now is get soft, squishy ' meat ' treats. I give her some higher quality kibble, so I get some junk food treats like BilJacs and such. They're squishy, so I can mold them kinda like playdoh. Kneed them into a ball, push the pill between, then mold it around a bit more. Makes her excited I have a treat I'm playing with, and even when she decides to chew for once, she doesn't notice the pills inside. Then I also don't have to be the bad guy forcing her to swallow something she doesn't /1

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

want to ...since I already have to be the asshole holding her muzzle to push her head back and give her eye drops 6 x a day, lol. I wish I could explain to my pets what I was doing to them ...

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

i had to do this for close to a year with my cat. barbiturates inside a molding of cheese. she never rejected the pills after i figured that out.
