She had Deformed Wing Virus and likely would have died quickly in the wild as she would not have been able to feed herself. Y flying from flower to flower.
They can and do sting - I have been stung several times over the many years I’ve been helping bees, but you really have to annoy them for them to sting you. 99 times out of 100 you’ll get a leg raise (back off), but that’s all. They are basically tiny drunk pandas.

You add about 30ml (1oz) syrup to 200ml (7oz) water to make a drink (or 1:7 dilution) either with still or sparkling water.

It’s close but not exact.
They go together surprisingly well. The liquorice can overpower if you’re not careful, so it has to be just a hint.

There were cold bees. I was there. Bees love warmth.

Would you believe me if I said orange, vanilla and almond with a hint of amyl valerate?
It’s an attempt to try and make a replica of it. Vimto apparently has 23 ingredients and this version only has 19.

A lot of times, they like to warm up on my hand and fly off after a while.
I’ll always pick up a bee on the pavement (sidewalk) if it’s in danger of being stepped on and move them to somewhere safer.
Patience, a friendly and calm demeanour and a metric fuckton of hazelnuts.
Think of it like a moist, dense almond flavoured sponge cake topped with cherry compote and drowned in vanilla custard.
