To a point i can see both sides, it allows the power companies to invest in additional generation without concern they are over investing. While still ensuring the grid demand can be adequately met during normally critically high usage times. Texas power is a for profit business unfortunately. Hooray critical infrastructure capitalism, dont worry only a few people died due to cold/heat outages in recent years (/s).
The crypto companies (or at least riot) actually have a deal with the power company where they would shut down/reduce usage during periods of high demand and be paid the hash equivalent cost. People with houses that have a central vacuum system aren’t generally using a handheld vacuum. Good vacuums have a pretty significant weight. That said they’ve improved significantly especially battery ones in recent years. It’s great for my older my mom who has a bad back. She cant lug or push around a full vacuums easily. But the hose by itself she can manage. Things that sound like stupid inventions to us are often critical or re-enabling daily life tasks for disabled and elderly people.
I mean thats called felony theft, and its not like they dont have cameras covering every inch of the stadium. That said not worth the risk to you point.
