It’s more than that. Miku started off as one of many characters created just for the retail box of Yamaha’s AI singing voice module which I think began around 2001.
Each version of the software has a different voice and the creators use a series of vocal responses that can be used to sing any word.
Over time Miku became a star of sorts. No one artist makes the music.
Essentially, it’s one big marketing ploy.

Since the bolt was lodged in the rear of the foot, it may not have been too bad for this magical creature, just uncomfortable.
