I get in a lot of contentious conversations on here, because I think the prevailing experience on Imgur reflects a white, straight male one. I happen to think giving voice to a different viewpoint on this forum is healthy. These interactions usually become contentious. I'll be respectful, as long as you're being respectful, and I will (almost always) refrain from downvoting you. I think we are too quick to use a downvote as "disagree" when it should be used more prudently. Downvotes end discussion and say that you disagree, but don't have a reason why. All I ask is that if you disagree with me, do me the respect of replying with why instead of only downvoting. If you behave respectfully, so will I.
