I gauge the cooking of my steak by touch; it’s very reliable. Using one hand, touch your thumb against your fingers. While pressing your thumb against a finger, with your opposite hand, press your hypothenar. The firmness is your indicator. Index finger = rare; Middle finger = Medium; Ring finger = well done.

Anyone else have a problem with being touched by a human you’re not extremely familiar with? On the subject of painted nails. Goths and metal heads have been painting their nails black for forever, this is nothing new. As a general observation, most people have a desire to be accepted and don’t like to do and don’t like to do anything that places a question mark on that. It’s a shame that we can’t all feel free with our own image to do what makes us happy.
